I just learned this today
It really frustrated me that over time logging into Battlefield took longer and longer each time
If you delete all your server list favorites (in deployment) this will fix that
And every time you log in to BF2 it will be almost instantaneous again
I wish I had known this earlier

Maybe we could sticky this?
Or maybe put it in the Faq?

Put the General.con file ([in user, documents, bf2, profiles, 0001/0002] after you deleted all "server-history"-lines) on write-safe (or whatever) and you've fixed that problem for all time...

What Daniel says, make it read-only and it's fixed .
