Not sure if this is a common problem or not, but whenever I open BF2, or BF2 with PR mod, it'll open up, then stick on a black screen. I've done all those video.con fixes, deleting cache, all that. I found out it was mumbles overlay. I closed mumble, and both opened fine, I opened mumble, and I got stuck at the black screen. Disabled mumble overlay with mumble open, and both games open fine. Is there a fix for this?

The problem

First startup was without overlay, second startup was with overlay.

iv? got the same problem. isn't there a sollution for this?

I had this happen to me after I changed compatibility settings on pr.exe and pr_mumble.exe (executables) Removed them and mumble and PR worked. Best to use compatibility settings on shortcuts only.

I have no compatibility settings on anything (don't need it to run things) and I've done that thing of deleting the blacklisted apps, but nothing will stop the overlay from crashing my PR (after about 2 seconds of PR starting)
