Another New Guy - Looking for Training

Hey everyone, I rediscovered BF2 after going on almost a 4 year hiatus and subsequently made my way to PR. I had played PR very briefly way back when (don't even remember my username or what version we were on) but am excited to get back into the swing of things.

I was hoping to hop on a server tomorrow September 5 around 7pm US Central but thought I'd post in here quickly to get a recommendation on a)Where to go and b)Find out if there would be anyone playing tomorrow night willing to help a new guy learn/relearn the ropes.

Thanks and I look forward to meeting some of you all!

Welcome to the forums! I won't be playing today, so I can't help you with training, but I'm sure some people will offer you a place in their squads when they see this thread.

Always glad to see players returning - enjoy your stay :)

just make sure u have mumble dude. here is the link to mumble 1.0
the pr download comes with mumble....but its mumble .5 and will not work
that link will help you install the newer mumble and i advise that you read it all...the download link is half way down the page. also, take a look at the overlays...they help a lot.
make sure u run it before playing the game. and always run it as admin or u run the risk of it not working properly.
enjoy.

Indeed, head to PRTA, maybe only place where you can learn BUT!!!!! TART is up for sign ups, Hearts looking for grunts, so maybe try that out. OReely I guess is instructor - he made me from noob to experienced player in one training ;) Here is the link - TART - Teamwork and Reality Tournament

Haha Cossack, I want to win, too, just like you, but not with this kind of methods :P

Welcome back, Tausome. I think PRTA will be the right place for you to refresh your memory.
See you on the battlefield.

Welcome back! As you've heard already, Mumble is a huge part of PR now and it's almost mandatory (imo it should be!) for solid squad play.

If you're having trouble with vehicles you can always hit up a training server and crash some jets

As for infantry and squad tactics, just hop in a squad and play your part. Most of the community would be more than willing to help you relearn.

Welcome back!

Thats not what I meant DoRn ;) I was in C9, NATO Charlie, got my *** kicked multiple times, but I learned the lessons - CATA do not forgive any mistakes, so that was best training I had to become pretty good [OD-S] member. ;) So Tausome, don't forget checking that out, competitive gameplay is best way how to get good at this game. ;)

Thanks all for the recommendations and kind words.
Wicca: I have added you on Xfire
Anderson: Got Mumble all squared away, thank you!
Cossack: I will check out TART, I make weekend trips every so often so I am not sure I will have the availability required, but I will give it a shot as it appears there is a pretty good system in place for if I need to miss since all of my absences would be planned in advance.

All: Thank you once again I look forward to seeing you all in-game!

The pleasure is ours, new meat on the menu. We all start saliving and shit.

Looking forward to shooting people with you.
