Hello again PR forums, I recently downloaded the new voip software and have begun running the audio wizard, but I have run into one problem; my keyboard lacks a numberpad. Would you soldiers be kind enough to help me find a comfortable keybind layout to accommodate my keyboard's lack of a numberpad.

Thanks in advance.

Honestly - buy a separate USB numpad. They're cheap.
If you're a real cheapskate or a numpad isn't for you, map the buttons to [button of choice] + [numeric key]. That's my advice.

Also, if you don't ever lead squads you won't need the extra keybinds. If you've just begun playing it can be a good idea to just plod along with another squad instead of doing it on your own.

I smell a laptop.....me not so fan of it anyway another tio is to make sure that the ventilation has enough room to cool the laptop because it will get hot after one hour of gaming.

yeah that's probably the way to go mate; e.g. shift +1 etc

One of the few things I like about my POS Dell laptop...

I would put own squad chat to left alt (or something similar).

thanks for the replies guys, I think I'll stick to left alt for squad chat, and use a combination of left alt + 1,2,3 for the other voip functions.

FYI Left Alt toggles the in game marker on and off i.e. the observe/ attack marker placed by the SL.

I use the windows key for intra squad comms.

Cheers, Murkey.

Yeah, but it toggles it so you only need to tap it.

I remapped my squad talk to the B key and my commander talk to my V key then changed the default BF2 binds, works perfectly and it feels natural after playing with VBf2 VoIP for years

If you have a 'gaming' mouse or a mouse in general that has more that the standard 3 keys, you can put your VIOP on there.

My Logitech G500 binds

1: Jump
2: Talk on Local [which is also my RCtrl key]
3: Talk on Squad Voip

And the only BF2 keybind changed are for Crouch on the Space bar, which default is RCtrl (key on Keyboard doesn't function), and Jump in on my Mouse key.

if you don't want to buy a usb numpad you can use the '1' key on the mouse + [Number Key] to talk to sqauds when SQL. Or as Oskar noted
