Just Play Dead

On Burning Sands, I was part of the British tank squad.
We were near crash site among all the burnt out tanks. We'd already lost 2 tanks and taken out a few enemy tanks as well, adding a few extra wreckages to the area.
I was on the .50 cal as the enemies Havoc fly straight over the top of us.
Both the main gunner and I tried to aim at the chopper, thinking we were already dead, when something interesting happened.
Our guns were aimed skyward, just like the burnt out prop tanks. I told the gunner to remain perfectly still. Our engines were off.
Our driver was outside the tank, scouting, and the chopper fired a laser guided missile straight at him and missed. It landed not even 20 m from where we were sitting. He went prone in a depression in the ground not far from us. The chopper hovered over us for a few more seconds, probably assuming they'd killed our driver, then flew off.
We then called in our CAS who took him down, which was awesome to watch.
This was probably the most suspenseful 3 minutes of PR I've had in a while, and it was an epic feeling.
