I would like to try to remake a few maps that I see people dont like anymore.

but I need the correct files to be able to do so.. or the right program, I have BF2 editor but I need the correct file for all the maps I want to try to change a a few things on

I also hope its alright with you guys if I do it

FYI, Before you touch any map, you need the express written permission of the map creator(s), or the map can never be publicly released.

Best would be to make a list of maps and changes to tuem, then send it over a pm to a red r-dev.

Ive sent a PM to ancientman if I can change some maps to maybe something better (hopfully something better).
hopefully I get an answer tomorrow.

hmm everytime I try to load that map BF2 editor crashes.

anyone know why?

error I get is BF2Editor Error - Unhandled exception. I checked BF2 editor logs and it cannot find Heightmap not found: Levels/kashan_desert/HeightmapPrimary.raw

but I can see it in kashan_desert folder.

found out why.

I changed my folder to kashan_desert_original and I made another one with kashan_desert_remake but BF2 editor was searching for a file called kashan_desert.

so I changed one file to kashan_desert and opened that one and it works

Yeah. You should unzip it just like I sent it to you.

btw how do I test it if I changed something?

I havent done anything major atm just replacing some stuff and adding some
