Why won't bots stone me?

Ok, i removed all weapons from bots (INSURGENCY faction - including knives) and left them only with stones.... i can see they walking around with the stones on their hands but they dont do anything to kill me.... they simply ignore me and go cap the flag
how do i make bots to throw stones at me??? is it possible or the stone is not a weapon for them? and if its not, why do they originally have it in their kit loadout?
