It annoys me so much when someone is wounded and is typing for a medic to revive him.

When you are Wounded only fellow wounded and dead, dead players can see your text.
When you are alive all players including wounded and dead, dead players can see your text.

If you are laying on the ground and typing to a player no one can see your text who is alive and thus able to heal you.

Rely on Mumble Local.

After so many years of playing, I can't believe that people still don't know this. About one in every 3 games I play I have to explain this to someone. Bf2's only been out for, what... 6 years ?

Not to mention that it was this way since the early CS days too.

It also says *DEAD*...

When wounded I think you can type to everyone no?

Only deads can't speak to alive people.

Wounded also can't speak to alive people. Feel free to test it in your squad the next time you're down.

Allright I didn't knew this, though I've been around for a pretty damn long time.

Feel free to add this to the manual as it saves players from a great deal of frustration when you see a medic on your minimap within a radius of 50m who doesn't responds.

I use C for my mumble local, in vBF2 using C directs your camera to follow another player when you are dead so sometimes, my camera locks on to a living being and I can talk to them on mumble from my dead body across the map XD

I have no idea how many times I've told other wounded people that they can only write to other critically wounded and dead people.

I kind of get it though; when you're dead it actually gives you a message that you're dead, but when you're wounded it doesn't, so there's nothing that indicates that you actually can't write to everyone.

Would probably a good idea to put that on the loading screen tips.

I have clanmates that have been playing this game since early days and they don't get it. In fact one is sure he can talk to living players

Add it to tips is a good idea.


Somehow, Dead(Wounded) people cant type does promote mumble.

Usage of Mumble reduces the amount of commo-rose in overall.

+1 That is a good idea. It could look like this "When you are wounded or dead, don't use text chat, alive players won't see your messagess. Use Mumble instead!"
