PR Performance Issue

Hello!

I have a problem.

I got a "new" computer:

AMD Phenom 9600 Quad Core 2,31
4 GB DDR2 Ram
Gforce 9800GT
Windows 7 64bit sp1

All drivers are up to date.

I installed BF:2 from Steam and PR with mappack.

Now, here is my problem:

Doesent matter on what graphicsettings i play, i have a very bad performance.
i tried to play on one core, no change. i tried everything i could find in internet, no change at all! (When i see other players, they dont run, they "slide" on the ground)

I played PR on my notebook before. with no performance issues! it was a dual core with windows 7 as well.

Any idead what i could do?

(excuse my bad english)

What does 'bad performance' mean?

What kind of FPS do you get (frames per second) on a map like Kashan Desert vs Fallujah West?

Does not matter what map im on.
I play pr for a while on old pcs on notebooks.. i had never problems with it. this pc is the best i ever had and even on lowest graphics the fps is shit. everything is shaking and as i said, i see players sliding over the ground instead of walking. the legs are not moving.

I tested BF2 now. I can play BF2 on the highest Settings/Resolution. With a great fps and no problems.

But PR keeps shaking low fps and players are sliding, no matter what settings. there is no difference between high or low. between the resolution or the aa...

i have no idea : /

Players sliding could be an issue with lag? How is your ping?

When you play with lower video settings, do you also decrease the Distance setting? That should be the setting that would help you the most.

Also have you tried updating PB?

My Ping is always around 10

PB is up to date.

As i said, i played pr on much lower computers... without that problems.

So..
i changed my graphiccard to an asus eah 6750 (1gb ddr5)
and i put in 4 more gigs of ram. now i have 8gigs....
reinstalled bf2 and pr. and played.

highest settings possible, first server. no problems.
i quitt and installed anders sound mod.
rejoined server, starts lagging..
changed settings to low.
rejoined
performance was even more worst, players were sliding over the ground again...

im reinstalling the whole shit again now, without anders sound mod.

let us see if this is the problem..

but here we go, my ping is very good (around 10) and i have fast internet (i download with 4 mb/s)

now. what can i do? any solutions?

You in general need to update your BIOS, video card drivers,
I suggest completely uninstalling your video card drivers using this: Driver Fusion - The Complete Driver Solution
Downlaod your new drivers to somewhere you will remember.
run treexys, completely delete current video card drivers,
run CCleaner or simliar to delete any other traces of GeForce drives in registtry.
REBOOT.
reinstall the nvidia drivers.

optimize your windows services, minimize RAM being used by other processes.
run GameBooster to do this.

defrag your hard drive,!!

perform this fix for windows 7 x64 https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... b-ram.html

My guess is the PR files are highly fragmented. Specifically the animation files.
