Overwolf overlay and MortarSniper application

Hello PR community, today I'm going to show a program called OverWolf and an application called MortarSniper.

Without much more text, please watch these videos.

From your first impression maybe you'll think "oh it's just another mortar calculator program" or "lol it's so easy to aim with mortars anyway". But the reason I'm posting this is because of the increased squadleader capabilities, and possible even for your squadmates. I recall threads in which people have wanted "arrows for markers", "markers for my squad" and deleting your own markers. Well this program does exactly that.

Now with mumble1.0 and everything that comes after it you might say how can this be much better? Well I don't. I don't know. I haven't tried it in action with other squadleaders or squadmembers so I don't know. But if no one knows about it how can it be tested? That's why I'm making this thread.

Now that's it about the mortarnsniper app. For overwolf there's also a skype, xfire, msn, facebook overlay. I haven't checked much of the other apps out but it seems pretty cool. However xfire doesn't work for me.

The teamspeak overlay is the one I like most. As you can see in my video clip there's a lot of chatter going on and it's almost impossible to distinguish mumble from teamspeak unless you have an overlay. Now, maybe there even is a teamspeak overlay out there but isn't it pretty cool to have xfire, skype and teamspeak in one program?

Now I have done my about telling you about this it's your job to try it out!

Overwolf

MortarSniper

Mortarsniper was done by Rincewindthewizard and the first video was made by sanderh, second by me. Overwolf, I don't even care who made it.

EDIT: how stupid am I? no link...updated.

Don't you get kicked by PB for using Overwolf any longer?

Great stuff! Is it allowed to use... ? You can set unlimited amount of markers even if you are a grunt :D

Is the ID limited to 4 characters? If you'd guess the other team's ID, they'd be fucked, right?

Hm? what do you want updated?

I don't even use overwolf, I only used it when I using mortars a lot a that point godamn 3 years ago. Sure it's useful but tbh it's too much of a hassle.

'Limeni[BiH wrote:;2121857']hold on, how is this not a cheat?
you can already have pretty exact location by using pythagoras so this is not a cheat but tool

Devs ruled this as a form of hacking/cheating.

How is this hacking or cheating? You can take ruler and slam it against your screen and start hacking / cheating like a pro with mortars.

This would be cheating if this app somehow provided enemy location but it does not. It's just simple calculator and marking tool. You still need forward observer to correct fire.

'Limeni[BiH wrote:;2122182']It helps you aim better, be more effective. Like autoaim cheat. And you don't need a FO.
It's not. You can print out a table of 50m grids and the corresponding mortar angles including elevation and it'll be just as fast if you know how to use it.

Saying you don't need an FO for it is also wrong. If you want to know exactly where your rounds are hitting or where to hit, you need an FO. Any well trained mortar operator can hit targets pinpoint accurate up to deviation with only a mark, but enemies move and the mark doesn't. Overwolf won't tell you that either.

This tool basically makes it easy for those poor unfortunate souls who can't comprehend the intricacies of parabolic curves, Taylor expansions and gridpoint interpolation in their heads, and that's okay. Mortars aren't meant to be a maths-battle.
