Need some "professional" feedback for my new PC. List below is what im thinking of getting.

Case: Antec P280
Processor: Intel i7-3770k
Mobo: Asus Sabertooth Z77
GPU: EVGA 4gb GTX670 SuperClocked
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 mhz, 16gb
PSU: Corsair 800W
HDD: WD Velociraptor 1tb 6gb/s
SSD: Samsung 840 PRO 256 gb

Costs a fuckton, but are the parts worth the money?

- Cooler is pretty loud. Maybe take a look at the nVidia GTX670 Phantom model by Gainward.

RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 mhz, 16gb
- Corsair Vengeance 16GB - PC3-17066U (2133MHz) - invest 25€ more in faster Ram. Sabertooth can handle it.

PSU: Corsair 800W
- cool, but too much IMO. I'd use the be quiet! STRAIGHT POWER E9-CM-680W 80+Gold (quiet and efficient)

HDD: WD Velociraptor 1tb 6gb/s
- whatevs, for pure media or normal data, you could save alot money here.

SSD: Samsung 840 PRO 256 gb
- check - currently my SSD-favourite outthere for "normal" use.


Only thing which I cant find here is a good CPU cooler. And let me tell you that the standard INTEL box cooler is ****.
Very lound and not well cooling.

I have a noctua something or other that im gonna use with the CPU, atleast I think it should fit.

I dont care much about noise, more about performance.

But yeah, I agree with K4on, EVGA is using stock coolers, nothing like MSI, ASUS or Gainward.

But Gainward Phantom one really looks good.

Think I got this one.

That cooler won't fit an Intel board. The "pegs" that attach the cooler to the board are a different shape/size.

Like I said, not sure on exact model. I have one which is currently cooling my i7-920.

Yes the Noctua heatsinks normally come with a variety of attachments for the various CPU configurations, so should be fine , dependant on when this build is going to be built, look into Intel Haswell CPU's , rumours are that by March it'll hit the shelves.

With the HDD as K4on says, you can save money there... As you have an SSD, then there is no real point in having a fast HDD as well, just put the OS and important quicklaunch apps on the SSD, all your movies and music will stream fine from a normal 6GB/s HDD (such as WD Caviar black)

16GB of ram is a bit excessive... Never used above 5GB on my system (tops out at 8,), and this includes some 3D modelling and highly space inefficient (but very speed efficient) coding.

What he said. I have 16GB of RAM in mine (actually, I temporarily have 12GB since I got my Gigabyte mobo working again and put it along with FX-8150 in a case and got a 2nd rig going for my roommate) and I don't use nearly that much. I think I got 16GB for shits and giggles.

Mmmm i just recommend you to purchase Dual-core is a standard today anything above 2GHz should be sufficient for a decent experience at least 2GB ram is again - the minimum this is not official though if you have this you will be able to customize your graphics via the Options menu 1GB of video ram.
