I think thats left over from when they had it on their promotional window when you load up BF2, that promo image is from the introduction of the British forces

well indeed mod tools generate sales for games, and extend their lifespan. How many people bought a bethesda RPG in anticipation for lots of mods? I would wager a lot. I bought BF2 only to play this game.

Leaves me wondering why more companies dont invest time into making modding easy.

Imagine if porting mods between successive releases was incredibly easy? Youd have people with no interest in sequels buying them jsut to play the updated version of a mod. CLearly I should be an EA executive.

But many of them probably wouldn't buy the new "modern" shooter they produce and sell at the full price

If they were really capitalistic smart, they would see how completely original and demanding a gaming experience PR was, and would realize that their Battlefiled franchise, which lately post-BF2 (or technically, post-1942 Desert Combat mod) has been more like Battlefail, would thrive if their next Battlefield title were structured and built anything like PR;

In other words, they should hire the PR dev team to take over conceptual design of the Battlefield franchise. But it looks like they like the whole nerdy failsauce MOH wannabe style Battlefield hybrid. They keep repeating it. Take Battlefield 2: Bad Company. Then Battlefield 3 successively after? They've fumbled. They're killing Battlefield! What kind of realistic war experience is limited to four different kits???

Just my $.02. Battlefield 3 looks cool and all, got cool things going on with the lighting and the player hand movements. But thats. About. It.

Not to mention #2 picture is from Mine 2 i think. Im sure i saw it in one machinima.

C-LOKE, that what you and i think. Majority of the population are blind sheep that go for up to date products that get advertised alot. Income would be much, much lower if they went PR path instead BF3 path.
