Why?
Because of this

Just take medium then.

But christmas does.
The vote has been reset to get a better representation of the current playerbase.
The old one did contain some very old votes from 2011 which aren't representative anymore.

Still stuck on a mixture of medium to high. Don't know if it's my cpu or what, but I just don't get consistently high frame rates maxed out.

few high, most low. Voted low-mid.
my system is slightly outdated, although it runs most "next gen" games fairly well.
vBF2 I can play maxed out.

Was running all high, but lowering the setting due to hitching.

Everything high except textures, which are medium to prevents CTDs. Everything forced to the maximum in Catalyst Control Center, too.

I would have to vote all low, but in the next couple of months I'm "upgrading" to my old, decent hardware (long story) so should be all high again ^_^

I've been playing on high for years. Mostly because I play other games that require a better system. I never buy top of the line, but I make sure I can play everything on high-ish settings. I am a huge bargain hunter too so most of my system came at a huge discount.
Intel i7 2700k and Intel DP67BG- Retails for $510. Got as a part of a combo deal from a friend who didnt want his intel retail edge deal. $130.
Galaxy GTX 660 2gb - Retails for about $220. I sniped it on a slickdeals deal for $170. Put my old GTX 460 in my wife's computer and sold the GTX 260 she had in hers for $50. Total out of pocket? $120.
16gb Corsair Vengeance LP 1600mhz - Caught another sale on slickdeals, $35 for 16gb.
Antec 300 - Retails for about $50. Got it on sale for $25.
If you are willing to wait for a good deal and save up your money, its not hard to keep your computer up to date.

Low, Low, Low, Low. Sometimes effects on High if I want to see mortar splashes in distance. I never sacrifice FPS for graphics in PR (and high settings = longer loading times).
+Low settings allow for sneaky long range sniping as some things do not render on low in the distance compared to high

All to the max + forced 16xCSAA through the Nvidia driver ( which really helps me to distinguish enemy bushes from enemy infantry on distance )
