Watch the series, know everything:

For your Steam question just read throught this thread:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr ... steam.html

This link is also in the thread, just gonna post it here too:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... steam.html

It's pretty much a fix for all the problems that can happen because of steam.

Hey Junior, glad to see new players, as for the community generally people are very helpful ingame so don't be discourage from asking questions in case you don't know, but the best thing to do is read up on the PR manual that Moszeusz posted, along with maybe watching some gameplay to get a better idea on how it all works. ;) happy gaming.

Click setup, go make coffee and sandwitch, eat and drink. Your setup will start shortly.

Run as administrator and wait.
For some reason, I had to wait at least a minute in Windows 7 for PR setup to start.

Setup was fast and easy, but joining a server is what is the problem. And another question, could i use my steam cd key for retail cd install? I lost my original cdkey, but have all 3 discs.

EDIT

Fixed it.

to fix that long delay you guys have you could probably turn off your "user account control" setting to "never notify".
just an fyi.

its under "control panel" "system and security" "Action center" "change user account control settings"

wouldnt that be something to have on at other times though? i dont really understand uac, but should it be turned back on right away for security reasons?

Depends on your level of computer-competency. If there are things that 'worry' you about the internet or computers in general, I think you should have it on.

As a computer science graduate I have a somewhat more intimate knowledge of the inner workings and general goings-on of computers, and as such in the vast majority of cases UAC is nothing but a hindrance and unnecessary button click for me. But I tell most of my friends to leave it on.

Hope that makes sense.

There really should be a "New Players Discussion" thread for new players with all relevant information (Installation, Mumble, How-To, Guides, Videos, etc . . .) in the first post.
