My suggestion would be to defragment your hard drive where BF2 :P R is installed. Some of the bigger compressed files are probably fragmented.

What version of BF2 do you own?

I suggest downloading mydefrag.com then downloading the specific Steam and Desura defragmentation script, and learning how to edit it if needed:
Download and install
[Script] Games Optimization Script for Data Disk (Steam and Desura included)

You tried:

Deleting your shaders folder?
Resetting your CCC custom options for BF2 and PR.exe?
Updating your graphics drivers?

Not quite sure what to tell you, there is no real changes in the code, so I don't know what to suggest.

turn aa off and shadows to medium, then boost aa to 2* or 4* and see if still playable

pr maps are many times bigger then normal bf2 maps and have a LOT more details that need rendering.
