I understand that, when firing a HAT weapon, you must first prepare it. That being said, I cannot help but wounder why every time an MEC soldier prepares an ERYX, he must, after cleaning the lens (Which makes sense), tap twice on the optics housing (Which does not make sense). Does this serve a purpose that I am Unaware of?

The Eryx deploy animations are being redone for the next version.

it's a time waster to prevent the HAT from being (even more) overpowered, anyways, it's not supposed to be very logical.

I like to think of it as a local MEC superstition/custom.

If a soldier ever forgets his training and doesn't double tap the launcher - its likely to backfire and cause serious injury and sometimes death.

So does that mean the Canadian Forces only let people from the Middle East use HAT kits?
