Got Windows 8 64-bit installed recently and latest PR Mumble doesn't seem to automatically join correct channels when playing (and it's not possible to manually join channels).

Already running it as admin and have tried different compatibility modes (xp, win 7 etc).

Any ideas?

PR mumble 1.0 doesnt support win 8.

I think its nothing you can do about it.

Hmm. Admin mode worked for me. Reinstall? Can you join channels manually?

did you try to install this.

I can join channels that aren't connected to PR servers, but when I join a PR server it won't transfer me over to correct channel.

What version of BF2 do you own?
Steam, Origin, Retail DVD, etc?

Run PRMumble 1.0,0,4 Beta as Admin
Always start PRMumble before PR
Run PR.exe as Admin.

Try starting PR.exe directly from the bf2\mods\pr\pr.exe location instead of a shortcut. As an Admin.

Can you manually join your PR squad channel? Normally it would transfer you, but you can join manually also.

Didn't work. I have Steam version (I also have Origin one, I guess I could try that one sometime)

Hmm I guess it doesn't recognize that I'm playing PR...

One thing I've noticed is that it doesn't say "BF2 linked" in mumble anymore.. Though BF2 does get linked in normal Mumble 1.2.3

You installed the right version of Mumble, right? The new one?

Have you tried this if it is a fresh installation:

Mumble
First download and install this: http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... st_x64.exe

Then this: http://realitymodfiles.com/dbzao/PR_Mum ... Beta_4.msi

And install it.

Then it works.

Does it have to be the 2005 version of vcredist or a 2010 will suffice? With the one you gave it kind of loads stuff and then suddenly stops (aka disappears, no finish button or anything, is this supposed to happen?)

Yes, this is a fresh Windows 8 on a new SSD.

I do not have win8 installed, I can't test any of this, however several people on that thread have done this successfully.

Windows 8 + PR:Mumble with active overlay = PR CRASH!
