WW II Dogfights

Is it possible to have a vehicle warfare on layer in the PN Mod for dogfights similar to the Falklands air map? I love the minimods and have had a blast flying. Until the minimod, I usually only flew CAS and trans choppers. This opened up a whole new appreciation for PR.
I thought it would be amazing to fly in WWII planes again like I used to in bf1942 battle of britain and el alamein on the PR engine.
Thanks for all the hard work. Again, we love .98

Yeah we could have a map with BF109s VS P51 Mustangs. Wouldn't be really hard to make if it's aimed for dogfights only. But the thing is that it wouldn't be realistic to have like 32 vs 32 planes on a map, it would be more of a "fun map" than a normal map. So I doubt it could be added into the main mod, maybe something for an event.

Well with WW2 planes baing slower then their modern day cousins there could be a 4km map with 3-5 planes on each side, that would ensue awesome dogfights while leaving the rest of players on ground to their buisness. Something like Falkands standard layer.

then problem is that a 4km in the current Normandy setting is extremely complicated to make, we would have to have another setting for it or just make a 2km plane map

Since the planes are slower, wouldn't a 2km map not be that bad since you won't fly from one end of the map to the other in a very short time?
Also I may sound naive, but what do you mean "in the current Normandy setting"? I'm just curious

As rodri's Tapatalk failed on him, I think he meant that all Normandy maps are unfit for planes. None of them have the space required for airfields.
Obviously if anyone wants to make a map focused on that, would have to think of a normal concept for armor and infantry unless it's a quick thing for an event.

No, I meant you would probably want to commit suicide after you went through all the hundreds and hundreds of hedgegrows for 4km's

4km in PN is something very hard to achieve since there is no good transports.
We don't have an Halftrack for the U.S. for exemple. Yet.
People already complain about the lack of transport and hard terrain on Brecourt (2km).
I think planes would fit well on 2km, it fits well in La Drang and Goose Green (skyraider) which are 2km maps, so I think it would be fine for PN. Now the map is needed.
A Mortain map would be very welcomed for having planes + an interesting maps with villages and hills + armor for both sides.

It doesn't work as well on Goose Green because it spawns in the middle of the map, and UK get freaking stingers lol.
Planes in PN wouldn't have to fear missiles. We have AA guns to counter them though which can be deployed at FOBs.
US get this :
Germans get this :
They're not avaible yet to be deployable since we don't have any players maned planes

Is it possible to use or mod bf1942 maps? I loved flying the Mustangs at Bocage

No, illegal copyrights shizzle, etc.
It would be really easy to make an "event" 4km map with just a bunch of random fields on the ground and plains along with some buildings, no details, just some eye candy for the pilots.
32 vs 32 planes with 2 airfields and we're set. Could be nice also to test the physics and tweak the planes.
