I've just restored my Windows 7 from a True Image backup as I was having some non-PR/BF2 related issues and now I'm having trouble with PR and Mumble.

I can launch vanilla BF2, AIX, NAW no problem but when launching PR most times I get "Could not start BF2 process" and pr.exe is left running in Task Manager until I kill it.

I got it to load a couple of times but then couldn't connect as it kept saying "You have lost your connection to the server". I changed the options from T1 to Cable and then managed to connect but that may have been a co-incidence as it was on T1 before I restored my Windows (I have BF2 and My Documents on a separate partition so my BF2 profile wasn't changed when I restored).

Then I couldn't get PR Mumble to switch me to the right squad channel and it just left me in the server's lobby, so I couldn't communicate with anyone. I reinstalled PR Mumble 1.0.0 beta 4 twice but it didn't help.

Try running both PR and Mumble as admin.

I doubt that will make any difference as I'm already running with an Admin account and I didn't need to do that before but I'll give it a go.

Doveman do you have BF2 on steam?

I get the exact same error when I havent logged in on steam.

No, it's a DVD version.

I didn't even realise it was available on Steam. I was thinking of buying my friend a copy for LAN gaming but then noticed it say's it v1.5 and I doubt it's possible to downgrade it to v1.41, which is needed for co-op with bots due to problem with the AI in v1.5, or to install from my DVD copy using the Steam key, so I guess I'll have to look out for a DVD copy.

It seems to have fixed itself somehow as it was working again yesterday

I found I could buy a new copy of BF2 Complete Collection for ?4.99 from Game, so I got one for my friend Bit cheaper than Steam's ?14.99!
