Static AA ZPU emplacements

I had a match on Muttrah which inspired me to post this. The static ZPU emplacements barely ever see any action and if they do they are easily blown up by cobras and left un-repaired (can they even be repaired?). Don't you think it would be more useful to deploy these ZPUs manually to improve flexibility and their usefulness (for example at FOBs)?
Also what actually is the purpose of their existence on the map when IGLAs can be deployed in more effective locations?

They can be repaired by a combat engineer. On Muttrah the one near the castle is quite useful. When you learn to aim it it can take down a Huey in a second and the mec-AA are normally in short supply and the Huey's most of the time limp home after 1 hit. Those damn flying tanks

.
Only a few hits will kill the cobra, so unless if he makes a vertical dive on you its possible to kill him.
The other one by the main base is useless since its rarely allowed to use it because it is in the DOD (dome of death), like many other base defenses on other maps, who are merely cosmetics. Being able to place the quad cannon's anywhere on the map would be overpowered I think. The Huey's get many second chances with flares, and as it is now the map is pretty balanced.

godfather, because your suggestion didn't get approved in the suggestion forums doesn't mean you should then go and post your suggestion somewhere else where it doesn't need approval...
The fact is that back in the early days of deployables, we did use to have deployable ZPU-4s and M167s but they where sooo overpowered it was untrue. Forgetting how bad they where vs aircraft, the biggest problem was how effective they where vs infantry and they where actually the most effective ground defence weapon ingame. I can still remember ripping enemy squads to spreads on Fools Road from the estate building roof top as they tried to advance... Then of course, there is the problem vs aircraft, especially choppers, since these weapons are most ineffective in r/l due to range, that isn't a problem ingame due to short VDs, aircraft can't engage them out of their effective range like in r/l, they have to engage them in their effective range, or forgetting the engaging bit, if the pilot has no idea about its location (quite likely since they can pop up anywhere) just flying near one and boom, your dead in a few secs... Jets are yes, harder to hit but still, quite possible, on the Falklands where they are seen quite a lot you can do a lot of damage to the jets with them. But overall, Deployable AAA is just simply way too over powered all round as a deployable.
While yes, we are looking into adding another level of AA for deployables at some point in the future with any luck, Deployable AAA is unlikely unless we change the rules for their requirements so they require a lot more crates than the lighter AA weapons but that is also an unlikely step at this point.
