PR Freeze

Hello all,

Recently I have had some issues running PR. After a few minutes of gameplay, some of my buttons cease to work. For example, capslock will stop bringing up the map or if I'm walking, it seems like the key sticks and my character will keep walking.
So, here is the strange part. If I esc out of the map and then hit esc to come back in, everything works again. But only for a minute or two.

It's not a keyboard problem as the keys work if I come back into the map and they also work fine for regular typing.

My specs

ASUS Gaming Laptop
GeForce 660M
8 gig RAM
Windows 8 64 bit

What I've done so far

Updated video driver
Complete uninstall and reinstall of PR

Any help will be apprecieated

This ONLY happens in PR?

Please log in and play some vanilla BF2 online. Test to see if you can reproduce the problem.

The first thing I suggest,
start vanilla BF2
log in
Go to keybinds
click Reset to Default.

Otherwise I can't even begin to understand what is going on.

Have you tried updating your keyboard drivers? Go to Asus drivre support page for your laptop and look for either keyboard or HID (Human interface device) driver updates.

Played some BF2 and the same thing happens. Could be Win 8 not liking BF2 even if I run it in compatibility mode for Vista.

Uninstalling BF2 and reinstalling to see if that fixes it.

LOL. I only play PR on my computer. I almost never play BF2. Why play anything else since I love PR so much

If you have a geforce 660m you might have Optimus switchable graphics, make sure pr.exe and bf2.exe and set to run on the 660m and not the i5 integrated graphics.

make sure power settings is set to performance, or gaming

man, you got to search this out, lots of small things could be affecting it. II's really beyond the scope of what we can offer,

Get your Asus model number and search out the google for other people having problems.

If you are running anything like MSI Aftreburner, Overwolf, PlayClaw, FRAPS, or anything else with an overlay, I'd suggest completely shutting those programs down before playing PR.

Especially shutdown the Asus AISuite II overlay, that program is buggy as heck.

Overlays can interfere with mouse/keyboard/HID signals to software , it's worth a shot.
