CTD on local server

Hi everyone.
Wanted to practice flying on local server.
Crashes to desktop all the time.

I searched a solution for hours, found some threads but they were old with depricated links and about old versions of the game.

Running v0.98. Installed correctly.
Have a legit version via steam.
Starting game with pr.exe
Computer specs: 8gb ram, 3.4ghz, gt630 2gb.

Would prefer not uninstalling the game/mod, at least until I try everything else.
Thanks!

First a suggestion, download and install the PR Test Airfield custom map:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f354-c ... eased.html

it should be unzipped into bf2/mods/pr/levels/

Second, can you tell us what options you are using? Easy way is to screenshot the Local server creation screen, upload the screenshot and post it.

Ok.
autobalance - off
max players - 32

When I start the map, no metter what map it loads karbala instead and crashes on 46%, collision I think.
Every map, including the test map you gave me.
Multiplayer works fine, no problems joining games.

I'm not really sure.

First option is to delete your shaders cache directory in Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache
join an online server, let PR rebuild the shader cache, then exit PR,
Try to start PR and your local server again.

---------

The other option is to capture the error message, try this:

Edit your PR shortcut and ( what AfterDune said ) put this in it

Code:
"D:\Program Files\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +restart +menu 1 +fullscreen 0 +szx 1280 +szy 720

Don't just copy paste this, but adjust to your install location. Make sure you don't omit quotation marks or it wont work.

If you start in windowed mode and it CTDs, a Message will pop up telling you the problem. Take a screenshot or write this down and post it to this thread.
