Why PR stands out from every other fps game/mod

I've not been playing bf2PR for a while due to the fact that I was getting bored with the same maps, lack of updates, nothing new coming out ( played for about 8 month before I set up the forum account) and the l33t gamers who like to lock squads and are just top pro's ,also smashing dayz.. But I find myself missing the mumble banter, the insurgent roll playing and generally having a Laff .
I was there for the birthday party on Kongral And many other silly nights that are all over YouTube and I'm happy to be part of it.. Something you'll never see anywhere else.
I baught a pc just to play PR and nothing has gave the the heart pounding experience except for dayz
So.... Why does it stand out to you?
I know my post isn't well structured and there may be spelling mistakes

different gameplay...
in start of round you maybe just sitting with your squad and observing/defending some area or compound(and talk shit about booze,metalmusic...)
and suddenly starts hard firefight and all are in chaos.
you try so listen your squadleaders orders to what to do that we can maintain our position.
and then all is silent.....you win the fight or you are dead.
but those rounds are quite rare in these days.

why PR stands out for me is,
there is completely different teamwork then other games. I like Arma 2 and 3 with the teamwork they offer and decent realistic battles but BF2 PR have something no game offers today.
that would be easy controls that anyone can learn VERY fast and ofcourse teamwork. I just love this teamwork PR offer us today and if it stays like this but more vehicles, weapons and maps I would be able to play this for a long time

Why it stands out for me?
Cause I just spend about 3 hours, squad-leading 5 random people who where following me 90% of the time. Doing what I asked. Reporting back and coming up with there own suggestions! Sure our KDR wasnt the best but we helped our team and took some flags and had fun!
That coordination with just random people is something I've only found in PR so far

It has its ups and downs. But when its on an up, theres little thats more awesome

PR requires, demands, expects that you will communicate with other human beings in order to accomplish your in game goals, goals that are dynamically generated by players during play; take this hill and build a FoB in order to set up an unexpected attacking direction for your team.
Its a social game, with mechanics that create massively varied play states that require social interaction to solve them, most of the time. To my knowledge, that is unique.

I bet there wouldn't be such cooperation in a pub arma game.

You can't compare a mod with a vanilla game in this case. Compare PR:BF2 with PR:Arma 3 when it comes out.

It takes time to get good at PR which almost every new (mainstream) game lacks these days. No one takes the risk to make a game that is "realistic" and demands some days of training before you can play it properly and years before you master it.
At the same time PR is fast paced (the BF2 version), and it mostly favors teamwork over lone-wolfing.
The professionalism of the gamer-base also is what makes pr stand out since this niche mod has attracted many ex-military or active military people, that like to work as a small unit in a larger scheme.

Subconsciously i was always looking for PR, most games dident satisfied me since i always felt like something was missing. After a while i just accepted it would impossible to find a game wich supports tactical team play AND have dedicated players.
Then when i encountered PR for the first time i had to cry a little.

Two sames. Don't quite cut the mustard

I understand the mechanics of the game and what is needed to win but to be honest Im a bit shit in the execution. My ping is often rubbish and yet I still love it even if Im 10 for 1 in the K/D stakes and coming last. I dont know any games where I can have that much fun despite being rubbish.
The random interactions with people are great too as well as with the regulars, its just a very cool community and dare I say it, there is often a level of maturity that is missing from many other games.

That's definitely why. Even though you play with random people you always get high quality gameplay. I suppose the realism and the deviation stuff keeps the cod noobs away and you only get people who truly knows what the meaning and importance of teamplay is.

Because it's the best game I've ever played. No other game has garnered even a casual interest. And the reason I still play is because I still have a few friends who play like I do.

I agree with you there. A squad you can have positive influence over. Kills don't interest me at all. Team win does.
