Agemman Interview , you'll enjoy it

1. Agemman, hi mate, can you present yourself to the community?

Hello everyone!

Who am I? Well, I think that not a single person is in a position to tell others who they are. Instead, you should have others tell you who you are. Therefore I have invented multiple personalities that can tell me what I am like!
According to personality #2 I:
Live in Sweden. In my mid-twenties. Studying engineering for a final degree as a Master of Engineering with specialistation in mechanical engineering. Feels good. Harry Potter is awesome.

2. You are an old player, can you tell us when you started PR? How you have evolved with the game?

I started playing PR at the very first release, as far as I am aware. At the start of BF2 I joined this Swedish community called =SofS=, Squad of Sweden. Together we had many years of fun together with BF2 being the main game, and later 2142. In fact, I still play every week with two mates from that clan (they are in 3dAC now) and I know them well IRL. We always had a fascination for more organised public play, and we all tried out PR when it was released. After that we tried every iteration of PR every time it was released.

The game itself went from being a supplement to vanilla, to being the main BF2 for me. It has been a great evolution to follow. I seem to remember a suppressed AR-15 sniper in the early versions. I miss that one as well as the escort missions with the black jeep.

3. 3DAC, it's a terrible team, can you say something about it?

It is a terrible team! Curry is the worst CO you can have, he just smokes weed and screams at everyone. Skatman is a damn commie that hates our Americans because of their FREEDOM.

3dAC is all in all an excellent team that I am very proud of. There is so many good ideas behind the scenes and technology that I am sure few other clans have; it is a bunch of people with the capability of doing a lot.

I still remember how I tumbled into 3dAC, dragged a few gents along, and then how we together went from running occasional skirmishes to full on 32v32 battles. It has been an epic journey.

4. This mode is great, and we have an evolution all the time. Can you say something about it? Which is your preferred version?

We all look back at earlier versions more fondly. It is a selective memory that is the same for tarot, birth signs, and whatnot. The human mind instinctively remember the things that went well, and sorts out the bad stuff. We glorify earlier versions remembering the highlights and not the bugs.
I personally find some of these later versions to be the best simply because of the versitality. You have the mortars, buildings, and so much more.

5. PR on Cryengine, wow! We're going to kill BF3 I am sure. Have you got anything to say on this? Like in James Bond movies, I like to say "PR never dies", what you think about it?

It is a necessary evolution. BF2 is soon 8 years old. It has its limitations and we need to move on. I was excited for the PR:A2 release, but it did not do as well as I hoped, quite possibly due to the "clunkiness".
For PR as a mod/game to live on we need an evolution. In three years we can possibly have a hardcore base fighting in BF2 :P R, but others lack the interest in that. We need change.

The way I see it is that a standalone game is the best. You can get things the way you want in a completely different way. Personally I am hoping for the feel of BF2 :P R combined with some aspects of ARMA2, mainly the separate aim and head.

6. You say that you are leaving, can you tell us why?

BF2 :P R is quite stagnant, and that is a major contribution. I haven't played it actively for almost a year now, and I haven't played it at all for at least four months. I have no urge to try it out either at the moment because I've played it too much. Try eating nothing but chocolate for a few days and you won't crave it for quite a while.

Another contributing factor is the competetive scene of PR. A year ago it was quite active on the 32-player level. FH, SRF, 3dAC, NEW, OD-S, some Italians I don't remember the name of, and a few others were all actively playing. FH and SRF has almost disappeared in the last few months, I haven't seen much from them or seen them as our opponent for quite a while. TART has gone under again, the PRT has not been up since C9. Not only has the general public of players been losing interest, the competetive scene is not showing the same life as it used to do.

I said earlier that 3dAC has such great people behind it and I regard it as a great shame that we didn't start of one year earlier. If we were where we are now a year ago, we would have had a better time for our selves and given our opponents a much harder nut to crack.

All in all, I am not very keen on BF2 :P R any more. I am however looking forward to PR2 when that kicks off. I regard it as a separate entity, a new game. Until then I am happily fragging away in TF2 mainly, a contrast that might be fitting.

7. We have the 1.0 coming out soon I hope, can you say something about it? What are you waiting for? Have you got a good feeling for this release? Tell us your hope and what you don't want to see anymore .

I have personally not taken that much interest in the release of 1.0. I actually don't know much about it other than that there might be some deviation changes. I think that it will most likely be great, all releases have been so far. If I were to wish anything I would love to see some new kind of gamemode or some revamped modes. I love the idea of CnC, how it is more fluid. The same goes for Insurgency, which is currently suffering from people hunting unknown caches in my opinion.

If I could remove anything it would be the bugs. Failing that I am not sure what I would like to see removed.

8. CATA, a long and good experience, can you explain this adventure and what can you say to your friends of this team?

I think I explained it quite well in my thread really. For a long time I looked at the PRT as a fun thing that I would have loved to participate in. Unfortunately at the time the amount of time required of me was too much. When C9 finally rolled around the corner me and Plankton, one of my Swedish friends from the previously mentioned =SofS=, decided to just go along with it. I talked a bit to Lan before the signups were posted and I had my application filled out for CATA and ready to be posted, we both did. The signups opened and I was the first person to post an application.

A bit later I was accepted into CATA and my adventure started. The things that set the mood for CATA was one thing; the bootcamp. I spent roughly an hour together with Rex where he screamed at us in regards of the do's and don'ts of playing PR. It was some serous stuff. After that I spent time together with Onil going through comms (which I still suck at). This really set the mood for the level of seriousness that was required by this team.

After that things just went along. I outlined how our SL had his computer crash, and our PL was not around much. I was made NCO of my squad and in charge until our SL came back. A while later I was made SL, just to be bumped up to PL a few days later. I've quite frequently joked about how I entered PRT with no intention of being anything more than a grunt and to learn...

Towards the end of the campaign CATA was looking for a 2iC since Orthas (I believe it was) wouldn't be able to make one battle. After a while of searching I told him that unless noone else wanted to I would give it a shot. I was deemed acceptable and I did my best. Mainly thanks to the awesome team I commanded in both matches we won those. Some glorious moments included outcapping NATO on Dragon Fly, and having Kasparas (I hope I am right here) blowing up an entire NATO convoy on Fallujah after hanging out in a single building the entire round.

As for everyone from CATA C9: Thanks a lot.

9. Your video won the "Best Comedy Video" award, can you explain to us how it was made and how long it took? How do you feel about your victory?

I was actually surprised that one was nominated rather than my horrible singing of Tik Tok, then again that one is mostly fun if you know me. The idea for the video comes from Curry. He sees himself as a Colonel Hannibal Smith leading 3dAC to glory, of course I was nominated to be his right hand as Face. This has been going on since the beginning and we all played the A-Team on the 200p Vietnam event I believe.
So finally I decided to make the A-Team intro properly for us. I grabbed Plankton and Opan (muh Swedes), got us into a server, and we sort of did it. It took us about two hours of tabbing in and out to compare things with the original intro, and then make our version of it. The entire thing is just us three pretty much goofing around and making up ideas on the spot.
After that I got my hands on the BR-files and went in and recorded what was needed while watching Top Gear. After that I was simply cutting it up to make it look like the real intro. You can compare them side-by-side and see that they are virtually identical.

I would say that the dedication put down into this project is quite minimal overall, something that is a problem for me in general. I have ideas, but I sort of half-*** my way through them. I do love the fact that I won though, and feel very proud of that. It is in its own way a top moment of my BF2 :P R career, and what way is better to go out than with that?

10. Have you got a message for the DEVs today? Have you got something special to ask?

You are all awesome. You've done more than I could ever have imagined when I first tried this mod. K4on is the most awesome though.

As for a question: If you had to pick one specific 3D model that exists in PR, and use it to describe and embody this community, which would you pick?[/QUOTE]

Agemman , hope see you on the battlefield , anyway thanks for this interview.

It was Soban who killed two full APC's with two different Arty IED's about 5 seconds apart. Round ended right after.

Your Comms suck... your driving sucks even more... and your memory sucks as well! You suck Age ;)

Shame you guys decided to turn into a more community sort of deal. Who the hell is ODS supposed to play now? Are we the only big clan left? :(

Correction on one part, FH >>> F|H still there and ready to battle, we are still strong and playing allot, the only thing is that we have become a full infantry/mortar support unit and lack armored clan members, so for a 32 vs 32 we are in need of a back up clan to provide that to us, outside that still here and having fun :)

Just to clear that up.

Nice read however, thanks for posting!

Thought age was around 48. 0.1 was too much for me, coming back just before 0.7 was a blast.
