Was told about this mod for BF2 today so thought I would check it out (a few years late I know), but I seem to have run into a problem (surprise surprise). I was told I needed the 1.50 BF2 patch and to then install PR. So, I installed BF2 (from disk), tried to install the 1.50, BF2 patch, but it aborted telling me I have a newer version installed.

OS = win 7 64

Before installing 1.5, you need to install 1.41

Did you restart your computer after installing v1.5?

restarting the computer is not necessary...
i have installed bf2, patch 1.41 then 1.5 several times on different computers and it works without the restart
but fell free to do so if u think its necessary
also win7 64 here

Isnt it 1.51 ? There was a beta for the 1.5 patch. Make sure you download the one which isnt a BETA.

check the link in post #4. it will save u a lot of headache.

Stupid question: Did you download the PR files already? When did you buy your copy of BF2? It might already be fully patched by default... If you have the PR files and your copy is a new one that you bought relatively recently, try simply installing Project Reality?

Besides, thread moved to Support and renamed, please use more descriptive thread titles in the future, you're not the first one to name a thread 'hello' and it gets hard to find your thread when looking for it for us other forum users, because the title is unrelated to the content

When you join the vBF2 game lobby (server list after you logged in), it should tell you what version you currently have down the bottom right iirc

Really? Huh, it seems that every time I do a full reinstall of BF2 and PR it doesn't work if I don't restart the computer once or twice during the install or patch.

Installing 1.41 then 1.50 worked. It's up and running with no problems.

yes
i have installed it at least 20 times on 4 PCs during these years, and never restarted the PC for that... even though the BF2 installation tells me to do so, i ignore it and install PR right after

has worked for me always.... dunno y it shouldnt work for u
but a restart is not that bad
