Well... BF2 screwed up, is that not surprising? It would seem that the M24 is the ARMY sniper rifle. The marines use the new M40A3 sniper rifle, succesor to the M40A1 wich saw service in vietnam. It fires special .308 amunition, all this match grade stuff. I know people have been talking about the need for extra magnification on sniper rifles... well this one comes with a 10x scope. Though half that would probably be more practical since in game we're shooting at less than half what a sniper would be in real life.
It looks like this, quite sexy in my opinion.

Actually, it's the successor to the M40A1, which is the predecessor of the M40A3. And yes, it's been brought up in dev discussion already.

Dude, half of the weapons and vehicles in BF2 are not used by the marines.
But yea, this would be a nice realistic change. I really hope we can have a US Marines and US army as different thing in PR, not a retarted combo of both
oh yeah, its supposed to be marines right? The online ranking system uses army ranks...
