As a short answer, don't throw good money after bad. The increase in performance in PR is so marginal, it will leave you with buyer's remorse.

As a longer answer, and not a course of action I recommend,
As a base system it could run PR. However, you have to acquire:

1. The OS
3. A low power GPU.

And I strongly suggest you upgrade to 4GB of DDR2 RAM. and buy a better PSU.

Now, let's say you have the OS, you still are going to need to buy the GPU.

--------------------------

You might do better looking for a slightly better refurb (on Ebay or elsewhere) and get it all in one package. If you want to state your price range, I'm sure people are willing to give you some options. Best of luck,

thanks for the advice, I've already purchased this off ebay. Price was 150 shipped. I know what you're saying don't throw good money at bad quality products. I looked around for different refurbished pc's but this one was in my price range. Is there anything I can also purchase to enhance my gaming performance on this tower. link me please if you find anything built towards my new setup thank you.

First you must find some info on your new PC.
1. OPen the case, and look for the sticker on the Power Supply.
Find the Wattage ratings, (i.e. 365W , or 250W), . Also note if it is 80+ certified.
2. Look at the stick of RAM, and se if there is a sticker on it that gives it's specs,

Minimum upgrade required:
- A Operating System. I'll leave that up to you. The Project Reality Forums does not allow discussions on pirated software. If you are a Uni student, you might be able to join ACM as a student, and get a copy of Windows 8 for $42. That is the cheapest solution I know of for purchase of a new OS atm.

- A single stick of 2GB DDR2 RAM. (optionally, buy a 4GB stick for a few more bucks)
You will need to download a program such as CPU-Z to find out the speed of your currently installed stick of RAM, and you want to buy another stick of the same or higher speed.
(If you buy a 4GB stick, it needs to be placed in RAM Slot 1, and the existing stick in RAM Slot 2)

- A low powered graphics card.
You want to consult this chart:
EggXpert - ATI and nVidia GPU Power Requirements (table)
You need to find a GPU that requires a lower power draw than your PSU, or you'll have to also upgrade the PSU.
Until we know what wattage your PSU is rated, we can't give recommendations for GPUs.

regards,

That is DDR RAM, not DDR2, it is incompatible.
