Freezing issue

Hi, been having this issue now for some time regardless of what PR update i have played this is something i cant seem to get fixed so basically the run down of what happens:
load up PR get into a server start playing then after an unknown amount of time(it can be totally random) the game will freeze, with the sound continuously looping from the last frame, and i have to restart the PC by holding my power button down.
I've searched the internet/forums to death on this, what i basically need is info that is spelt out in simple terms, i know very little about PC's so some of the language is somewhat baffling. What i have done though is:
Uninstalled reinstalled completely, numerous times.
Constantly cleaned the PC, Defrag, CCleaner, Cleanup etc.
The settings in PR are medium audio and medium graphics.
Updated my Graphics card
Removed useless files to free up some memory.
Any help would be great as its something that has bugged me since playing PR.
System specs:
Motheboard - P6T Deluxe V2
Processor - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz
Memory - 2038MB RAM
Video Card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285
Sound Card - SoundMax Integrated Digital HD audio
If any other system specs need to be posted let me know. Cheers in advance to any help!!!

We need to know what operating system you are using; WinXP, Vista, Win7, Win8?
We need to know if the operating system is the 32bit or 64bit version.
My first two hunches:
1. Audio problem.
2. System is running out of RAM.
The first test you can make is to disable your onboard audio, then play PR to test.
I'll post step by step directions if you'll tell us what Operating System you have; WinXP, Vista, Win7, Win8?
In general, for VIsta, 7 and 8, go to Start-Search, type in
compmgmt.msc select it when found.
In left column select
Device Manager
In Right column find
Sound, Audio and game Controllers
Then right click each item and select Disable.
---------------------------------------------------
2. It is quite possible you are running out of RAM, several ways to deal with this, but try the following first, it is easiest solution:
2A. Download and install IOBit Gamebooster3.
Speed Up Slow Computer, Keep PC and Internet Secure, Freeware Download - IObit
MajorGeeks.com has a decent video tutorial on using this program:

Apologies for that! Operating system is Vista 64Bit. The audio problem i have heard alot about that, and RAM wise i recently put my computer in for a fix due to a different problem and they said i could do with increasing my physical memory so i'll try that solution aswell. Cheers

Don't spend more than needed for your PC,
Your motherboard has the feature of Triple Channel RAM, which means in your case you should have 3 matching sticks of RAM installed.
6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory is all you need. Make sure it can run at 1.5volt or 1.6Volt.
IF you trust your PC shop, or have a mate who can help, you might be able to use your existing 2GB and just buy another two sticks of 2 GB RAM with matching specifications. It will definitely be less hassle to shell out another 20 quid and just get a new kit of three sticks of matching RAM.
Some examples:
CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMX6GX3M3A1600C9 - Newegg.com
G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9T-6GBNQ - Newegg.com
G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ - Newegg.com This is DDR3 1600 , slightly faster for a few bucks more.
A quick google gives me this, a very good place to understand what you need:
Asus P6T Deluxe v2 Ram Upgrade
Take a look at this
Tom's Hardware article about RAM timings for the first gen i7s. The upshot is that faster RAM is preferable to tighter timings. Given that fact if money is a bit tight I'd probably by the first kit and not worry about the timings.
If the extra 20 Euros isn't a big deal then sure, go ahead and get the better timings. You might find you can buy a faster kit instead though.
I don't know if you would have to remove your existing kit, it might work with them both as long as the timings and speeds match up and work on both sets, but you may well have to dump them if not.

Hi !
I don't think it's related to your RAM ! (using Gamebooster3 is strongly recommended anyway)
If this hard freezes only happens in online servers (vBF2 & PR) , then it is punkbuster related problem ! and the reason is either:
1-Your sound card driver is not compatible with punkbuster (you can test this by disabling your sound card)
2-You are using removeWAT (or similar) tool !

Hi guys, so basically i installed the IObit gamebooster, with limited success i do see a notable difference in that the freeze now happens longer into the game but im still getting the freeze during a game. I've heard about the sound issue my question is, what happens if that turns out to be the problem? does it mean i would then have to invest in a new soundcard or are there ways to get around it with my existing one? cheers for the help though.

The most comon solutions are:
- Trying other drivers until you find one that doesn't crash
- Buying a new soundcard/USB based solution.

Hi Psyrus, yea im almost certain now its a sound issue, my RAM seems to be doing well.
I updated my driver from SoundMAX to High definition Audio but the only problem is my mic has now stopped working with this update so i had to revert back to my previous driver, and no forum or help seems to solve that issue so im kind of stuck really!! like i said i havent much knowledge in computers.
It's strange though as with PR:Arma i had no issues whatsoever played perfectly but that MOD seems to have died, i suppose waiting until arma 3 is my only option!! Investing in new things for my PC seems costly if it all goes wrong. Its only PR:BF2 that i've ever run into problems every single game ive played on has been a breeze for my PC

Try the windows 7 X64 drivers .6585 from this link:
http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/asus/misc/a ... 5_Win7.zip
And yes, the win7 x64 drivers work with Vista x64, and seem to be the most recently updated.
Here is a discussion on the drivers:
