As the title says, I am unable to join any Mumble squad room. I can not hear anyone, they can't hear me. My Mumble does not switch me, and I am unable to switch channels. This really ruins the immersion for me, especially since I have friends I play with

Yes, I am up to date with 0.981, Mumble V1.0 Beta 4, and I am running everything as administrator.

Compatibility mode? Reinstalled?

Double check that your program's run as an administrator, too (check all the shortcuts and everything).

Use Windows 7...

Some basic questions:
1. You can connect to the PRMumble server?
1a. You are stuck in the Root channel?

2. PRMumble Overlays do not work with Windows 8.

I suggest you try to run PRMumble in Windos XP SP3 compatiility mode and run as admin.
start PRMumble before PR.
start PRmumble as admin,
start PR as admin.

run PRMumble in Windos XP SP3 compatiility mode and NOT as admin.
start PRMumble before PR.
start PRmumble
start PR

Good question, I don't use win8 enough to type out a step by step guide, so here is a very detailed tutorial on different ways to run a program as an admin in windows 8:

No, I already know how to run as administrator, I have been doing that the whole time. Also, I use the option "Troubleshoot Compatibility" and it uses WindowsXP SP3 and the program looks completely different. If I try saving settings to have Mumble always run like that, it says "Incompatible Program."


I know now that the message "Battlefield 2 Linked" does not appear. So, it's not like it's a weird system problem.

I've checked the Win8 thread. I'm not using Overlay, and I'll answer some of the questions.

-I AM stuck in Root.
-I AM able to switch to main channels of servers.
-My BF2 is NOT linking with Mumble, and not showing up.
-I can NOT hear anybody and nobody can hear me.
-I AM running both Mumble and PR as administrator...always.
-I HAVE tried using VCRedist and it has not worked. No program is working.
-I am NOT able to enter channels manually (except for main server channels) and I am NOT automatically being moved.
-I AM using Windows 8.
-I AM running Mumble first, then PR.
-I HAVE tried everything.


I just don't know what to do. I see a lot of other people have theirs working on Windows 8, what's with mine

have you deleted the PR intro movies?

What version of BF2 do you own? Steam, EA Origin, Retail DVD, etc?

Did you perform a In-Place Upgrade From Windows 7 to Windows 8 ?

Did you install BF2 and PRMumble while logged into windows with a Windows User Account with admin rights?

It might be worth uninstalling PRMumble, deleting the left over files , rebooting then reinstalling.

Unisntall Program->PRmumble 1.0.0.4
then do this:
H. UNinstalling and Reinstalling

I own a BF2CC hard copy, but was transferred over to Origin because I lost the disc.

Hi, are there any know issue with win8? Because for me mumble won't start with Pr 1.0.

No known issues,
make sure you run the PRLauncher as an admin.
