Ive been playing PR for a long time and no problems.
I recently upgraded to Win 7 and have had no issues with PR.
the other day I noticed I was updating soo I looked to see what
it was and it ws my Realtek Audio Driver...some new update came out.

After the restart everytime I play PR.... 10 mins into the map the game
freezes and loops a few secs of sound.

Things Ive tried after countless hours of researching...

#1 Set sound setting to Low and Software = Still Froze :x
#2 Set Realtek Audio to 16 bit instead of 24bit = Froze :-(
#3 Uninstalled New Realtek Driver and Used my stock
Motherboard CD Driver (that WAS working) AND=STILL FREEZES....????
#4 Uninstalled BF2 and PR (Patched and Updates in Correct Order=Frezzes

im at a loss...PR is realy the onyl; solid game that I play and its killing me.
Im thinking about jsut getting a sound card from Best buy and trying that
but Im strapped on cash until payday (2weeks)

Any suggestions or Help would be greatly appreciately gents...
Ill try any new ideas...

Thanks in Advance...
Justin

back;

There was this thread:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f26-pr ... oblem.html

and this one:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f200-p ... ockup.html

search through those. I think the jsut of it is to change the audio settings from hardware to software or vice/versa and disabling eax?
Read through the threads, they should help, they are full of confirmed fix posts.
Try the last thing, change the audio settings from Hardware to software or vice/versa and disable eax. That should do it. or this post:

easiest way to do it is to go and open in Notepad this file:

Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\Audio.con

Next, go and open in Notepad the Audio.con file in each of his profiles:
such as A:\Users\Keifer\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001\Audio.con
A:\Users\Keifer\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002\Audio.con

and adjust to the same.

That should get you into BF2 and PR and you can then test to see if you can use Hardware Audio and Medium settings.

If he uses HDMI audio he can also use that as his primary speakers and proceed from there.

First off, check ALL of the updates for this last batch of updates, tomake sure it might not be some other update causing this.

Second, get those old Realtek drivers in a safe spot, preferably on the root directory of a USB thumbdrive.

EDIT: Turn off New Hardware Wizard : How to Stop Windows From Detecting New Hardware | eHow

Third, download and install Driver Fusion - The Complete Driver Solution

Fourth, open Treexy Driver Fusion, and unisntall all the realtek AUDIO drivers.

reboot.

Let windows start, do NOT install the drivers yet.

Try to play PR using audio setings of Software LOW.

If that works,

shutdown PR,

reinstall your old Realtek Audio drivers.

Try to play PR using audio setings of hardware medium,

If that works,

return your audio settings to whatever you had preferred prior to the problem.

yeah just keeps freezing ...I havent played PR in over two weeks cause this problem and it sucks. I jsut ordered a Asus Xonar DG PCI sound card to bypass the shitty realtek audio drivers that are apparently giving me this issue...

Hopefully this solves my problem..I uninstalled PR and deleted all PR folders...now Im going to wait and install the Sound card update drivers from asus and tehn restart the PC and install PR and restart again.. AND WE SHOULD BE GOOD....

If my game freezes in 30 mins after all this....I have a solid red brick sitting at ready on my table next to the screen...
