Attack Helicopters Gunner Camera

Removal of the GUNNER DIRECTION box degrees in the gunner seat camera view.
Right now we have this
would be nice to have this
Why? We already have the gunners direction degrees (the compass)
Pros:
-Easier for the gunner to know where hes looking at
-Easier to predict the degree limit
-More realistic look
Cons:
-?

Technically you also have the compass on the top of the HUD as well but ye, I like the suggestion
As for your cons, someone needs to make it happen

question, mostly to moszeusz I guess or somebody else with knowledge about it, can you alter existing bf2 huds or PR huds of which you don't the original files? Or do you have to remake them from scratch? I have no clue how huds are made or saved so it's a question just out of interest.

Yes you can pretty easily edit existing HUDs.

I like it! The idea of the gunner's visual 'box' anyway. I tend to use the the original every so often to gauge bearings in relation to the direction of the aircraft in relation to where i'm looking, so if it would be possible to duplicate it and instead of removing the direction, replace it with the box and move the direction to underneath the aircraft heading bug along the top? So the compass along the top of the hud gives the aircraft's nose heading, and the number underneath gives the gunner's vision direction (as it is now)

Yeah the compass on top shows the helicopters direction, the one below the gunners

So you want to have gunner view indicator(similar to pilot one) instead of double compass? It should be doable quite easy. About second compass it shows vehicle position, instead of camera position, so I'm not going to remove it.

It could be a good idea, but won't change much, when you gun you usually already know where you're looking at in relation to the chopper itself

Yea we definitely don't need three compasses. We really should only have one, so as to keep the field of vision unobstructed, but if there are 2 IRL, so be it. Would really love to see this implemented for 1.0 if it's as easy a change as stated. If I knew exactly how to do these things it'd be done already.. hmm, research time.. doesn't seem to go beyond photoshop and the bf2editor, am I right?

I would also like a degrees part of the HUD, that shows me the angle that im aiming to the ground.

Well, let's be honest here... I'd like a compass counterpart that shows me which direction my legs are resting, so I don't have to look away from the screen to see if my nuts are crimping! Dem boys need circulation! LOL
No but really, these are all great ideas. I get semi-disoriented when in the gunner cam on choppers. Being given tactile feedback in regards to the direction the chopper itself is facing would be TITS.

I was the one who made these gunner screens. The reason there is a compass there and not the direction finder is because I couldn't find any way of putting it there. The pilots have the finder in vBF2, I can't remember in PR but they still do right? Anyway, as far as I can remember the variable that does this pulls the info from the gunner seat and shows it on the pilots HUD but for all my trying I couldn't get it to work the gunners HUD.
I guess it is how the code works but I think it pulls the info of the direction the gunner is looking in relation to the vehicle. If you are the gunner, then you are looking straight ahead all the time in relation to yourself, if you know what I mean. You can't get info on what angle you are facing in relation to yourself, so the box just stays in the centre.
That is why I decided to replace the square with a functional compass. The top compass shows the vehicle direction and the bottom one the gunner direction. It isn't ideal and most of the time I doubt people pay attention to it as it is a little more cumbersome than the square but it was better than having a nonfunctional piece.
That said, maybe some bright mind can find a way to do it now. Maybe I overlooked something and it can be done with another variable or some workaround.

I don't know u can calculate the difference between both compas to get a new variable (python?), or compare the direction gunner look to the pilot (because pilot look straigth all the time)

This is the view of the head, and the driver is still considerate at being on the straigth position. It is not like the turret of vehicule (chopper or .50 on humwee). The position is block when u push the key to move the head.
