  5. In Hybrid Crossfire? What detail levels? Resolution?
Trying to build a HTPC out of old and freebie parts but need to buy a CPU and Mobo, (and hopefully not a GPU). Hooping the A10 APU can allow for fanless operation, the Intel options would require a discrete GPU and hence fan noise...

Want to play PR on my couch and TV gosh darn it, and don't want to spend more than necessary.

Yes I'm aware the new A10 6XXX is coming out in a few weeks. the iGPU will be maybe 12% faster, not sure what I'll do.

I help you guys out with tech support all the time, this time I'm the one asking for help :p

Thanks,

Don't have those, however, I do have a AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 and a 5800 and run on all high, what you are getting is better than mine, so I would expect max.

Also run at 1776x1000

I have heard for the 5800 and 5700 you should invest in a non stock heat sink.

I don't have those but I have something similar, AMD FX 6100 and a HD7770 core edition I run PR maxed out and I get an avarage of 80 fps, but in maps like fallujah it drops at about 40-50 fps min to 70 max. (MOB ASUS M5A97)

Bump.

Anyone use there APUs to play PR? I'm trying to finish this HTPC this weekend, could really use some feedback.

I don't have any APU's to my knowledge, but I have a 6770 which is apparently practically the same thing as a 5770 and I can play PR on max settings with no lag what so ever. My CPU's totally off from what you put though. AMD FX-8150.

That APU should run BF2 on max with no graphics card. Otherwise there really wouldn't be any point to buying one or even making them. I made a wish list on newegg.com that used a A10-5800k, 8GB memory, 120gb ssd, top of the line northbridge mini-atx mobo, mini-atx case, dvd, and 380w power supply for $460, that's pretty cheap if you ask me.

Sadly the ONE AND ONLY Haswell CPU with IRIS Pro 5200 will be only in ONE core, the i7-4770R, which is SADLY built on motherboard already, in All-In-One PCs... -.- :( :p

Those new AMD processors aren't that great nor are their APUs.

Most of those processors are weaker than the Phenom II series.

What's great is that for $110 you can forgo spending then additional $100 or more on a video card for a game that doesn't need it. I played PR on an AMD 3500+ up until about a year ago. I first built a system around a triple core and then another off a 1100T and they are both overkill for PR.

I'd imagine that the top of the line APU is even probably overkill, considering they are still more powerful then most of the CPUs and GPUs that were around when BF2 came out. Imagine that APU was available when BF2 came out vs. paying $300 for a FX54 plus $200 for a video card that could barely max out, now you can do that same for pennies on the dollar.. not great??? for arma.. of course not. for bf2. GREAT. not only great, but the future of PR computers if you ask me. $400 anyway can play maxed out PR.

Vicious is on point, exactly what I'm thinking.

So I ask again, is there anyone with a A10-5XXX or A10-6XXX APU on this forum who plays PR with that PC?
