Motivation to come back...

Hello!
Let me start this of by saying this is the best game i have ever had the privilege to play.
I know i can search and find almost anything in the forums, but my motivation is low at the moment. I have been gone from PR for almost 2 years, havent had the time or motivation to play, but i really miss the experience.
I need someone to tell me why I should return to PR, how is the game now?
Whenever PR v1.0 comes out, will I be able to play without BF2 installed?
Whats the playerbase like? (Im from Norway, so european time servers....)
Is it still the same intense game?
Thanks in advance.

Now is the best time to play! You still need to have BF2 installed, even with 1.0. The community is strong and growing even stronger with the release coming up. Not to mention the DEV team working hard on PR2 for the future. Weekends is a good time to play if you want to get into a serious squad and sim it out. There are 2 major american servers and a few more european and other servers to choose from. Come back and enjoy!

Not saying you are one of them, to those of who rest of you who complain about PR decline and still refuse to actually play.
If you truly love PR you won't have any longer pauses 1-2months max(RL issues not included). I hate to be the one breaking it to you but 1.0 will not "change everything." Frydad has the right attitude. I will play PR regardless of upcoming changes, I spit on those who say "I'm waiting for 1.0. Then I will play."
EDIT: Ok maybe i was a little rough.

Whoa thats pretty hardcore mate. I have had a break of like 4 or so months from PR and came back and enjoyed it as much as ever. Theres still a decent player base and pesonally I always manage to find a server when I go on. The game is as good as ever and 1.0 will seriously top it off but I would recommend joining now if you like PR.

Not being rough swedensniper. I see your point...Rl issues howerver do play an important part for some of us older players.
Im not hoping for a quick fix with v1.0, im just looking for those moments and bits of the game that makes me really want to come back and spend time in PR.

the best thing would be if you atleast try it out yourself, once 1.0 got released.
Its for free, so nothing much to lose
edit: and yes, a valid BF2 copy/key will be still needed.

Brooklyn: yes i know it sounds weird... It has been a long time since i played PR.
Thing is, PR is probably the most time consuming game, as well as the best game ever for me... So I just needed people to remind me what the upsides to the game are again.
Oh well, RL tells me to get done with moving from this house to the next and paint and change floors and play with the kids first, hehe.
Will buy a new bf2 key and try it out on a rainy day!
and to gx; im no squad leader, im a follower of orders.

I feel you bro
I dont really think PR is a time consuming game, sure you need to have 2-4 hour long sessions to really enjoy it, but you can play it once a month (or even less frequently), and your experience will not suffer from that.
Things like WoW, they require some commitment.
The only reason to wait for 1.0 to start playing again could be to avoid downloading twice as much and reinstalling the whole thing after the release, but if you expect pr to be a whole new game, it just wont be. Almost everything will change, sure, but the core is still the same. Its not like there will be magically more teamwork after the release, i would even expect less tbh, due to a surge of new players.
TL;DR: If you can afford to download extra 4 Gigs, go for it nao!

Playing PR is like having sex. If youve never done it before, youll probably end it sooner than you assume.
And even thinking its some shining great thing that will be awesome, its usually not.
Spending time in the game, is epic. A virtual Warrior. It doesnt have to be hard to have fun, just find some good mates to do it with, and before you know it your all greased up and ready to go.
Having a boner is one of the key things you need to play this game, you have to immerse yourself, you have to be willing to give some to get some. And the only way to to that is to be in the right mood.
Picture a game, the enemy team is really good, they are taking out your bases, taking out your Assets. Its not fun, its rough. But if you have a good Squadleader, all you need is like a line. Almost like a cheap 2nd grade movie, "Lets go men".
And at that point, it doesnt matter if you live or die. You are experiencing living at the edge, nothing to lose, with victory and your comrades shoulder infront of you. Everything is riding on you keeping it in until the very last moment.
And still, if you lose.. Doesnt matter had sex.
