I am guessing this bug is related to Punkbuster more than PR but maybe you can help me. I was just playing on NwA - after 3 rounds or so, right after loading the Falklands map (Countdown was at 2:00 or so, so we weren't even in the game yet) Punkbuster (or admin decision?) suddenly banned me for Aimbot (for 0 minutes).

Now I guess this is the part you will have to trust me: I had 3 kills and 4 deaths the round before - I NEVER EVER would even think of using an aimbot because it would spoil the game for me. I'm not some 14 year old kid with the need to OWN to have fun.

I rejoined the Server and immediately got banned again for the same thing (this time 1200 minutes). I dont seem to be able to join any servers anymore right now.

On Mumble I heared someone else had the same Problem. I hope he will post here too now..
If anyone knows about the Problem or had the same experience I would appreciate you posting here.

Hey Arm-Off.. I can vouch for you as not being the type of person to do this kind of thing.. you're a dedicated player that plays PR for the teamwork and I'm sure there's plenty of guys in the community here that will back you up on that here.

This doesn't make any sense....

I have met up with arm-off in real life for a beer, he flies trans all the time, flies CAS sometimes, drives APCs or Tanks, almost NEVER does infantry or guns. If one person in the world would have the least use for an aimbot, it's this guy...

Agreed, let's get arm-off back in the game asap pr devs!!

Is it possible his guid was hacked and banned by whomever was using it?

appeal your ban as fast as possible to Pbbans or evenbalance.


btw how can you have 430 different IP adresses?

Appealing to PBBans sounds like a lot of hassle. A hard copy of BF2 would cost you like 10 Euros or something like that.

I guess I could install a new game and change my name. But this just feels wrong - its like hiding from the cops when you're innocent.. Also I don't want my (awesome) name ruined.

The fact that apparently today there have been more bans than usual (all with the same Violation) gives me hope that my ban appeal at evenbalance has a chance to succeed.

changing your name ingame wont help. Your GUID(linked to your bf2key) got banned. The only way to play again is to file a ticket to get unbanned or buy a new key.

You are not the only person this has happened to, I remember seeing your ban pop up on the scrolling PB message in the console whilst playing on the CIA server; the same happened to around twenty people over the course of fifteen minutes or so.

I just heard its linked to Nvidias lates graphic drivers. dont know if its true but thats what I have heard.

Over 20 bans today for this, it used to be less than one ban per day for bf2. Arm is not the only PR player who got banned, [TF-R]Mutant and CCanYouFlyBobby got banned too.

This feels like a false positive on so many levels, hope pbbans/pb will fix this asap. Won't be surprised to see another handful of PR players on that list by tomorrow.

Hopefully the ban is affecting games that PunkBuster is currently supporting.




Someone should post this on the in-game ticker ASAP to prevent others from being banned, until/if this ever gets sorted out.

Hey Arm, you might have a faster solution to your problem, if you post your issue on pbbans forums.

If you look in this section below, you will see they activity lift bans when the program incorrectly bans a player.

Brezmans has already posted in the SA forum on PBBANS requesting somebody take a look at it.

A post in the general section wouldn't hurt either - more noise means somebody will notice and (hopefully) take action.

btw - grats to the community for not going down teh usual path of calling hacker first
