I have this issue on WIN7 too, Screen freeze for couples of secs???
IDK the reason, but I have to reintall my OS completely then I can get rid of this problem. I am just too lazy since this problem happened twice.
Some softwares u install can cause such a problem, but I dont know which certain of them. :(

You need to tell us the exact model number of your notebook.

I suggest downloading and isntalling this: HWMonitor CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting
Run it once, in the list of installed hardware, it will tell you if you have a discrete GPU installed.
Take a screenshot or write it down and post the results on this thread.

It sounds like you have a dual graphics notebook. Referred to as Nvidia Optimus Technology on your line of notebooks.
That means you have the discrete Nvidia Graphics card, and you have the integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics.

If you do indeed have an NVidia graphics card, I think it is not activating when you start a game.
This is most often due to
1. You start PR without your power cable plugged in
2. You switched your Windows Power Profile
3. You experimented with the power settings in your NVidia Control Panel

By default On most Lenovo notebooks, if the power cord is not plugged in, the notebook stays in low power mode, which means it uses the Intel HD 300 and not the discrete NVidia GPU.

it is quite possible that i switched my power profile to "balanced" in that time but im not sure...
i tried switching it back on "high" but i still get those lags

and the picture: here you go!

IDK what happened,
Where it says LENOVO INVALID
that is supposed to say something like LENOVO T520 or LENOVO Y500

Still need to know the exact model number, I still don't know if you own a discrete GPU or not.

Deutsch/German

Hmm... sieht so aus ob du da ne GT 630 drin stecken hast (GOOGLE, reviews:
Lenovo G780 Produkteinsch?tzung - Test - Das meint das Web - Notebook, Netbook - PC-WELT
&
Test Lenovo G780 Notebook - Notebookcheck.com Tests

)...
LOL das ist soo lustig, dass du selbst "keine Ahnung" hast, was bei dir die game-Grafik-power "erzeugt"... xD lol

Also, zum Thema:

:p istn langsames ding...)

Englis(c)h:

Well, looks like you got a GT 630 in there (GOOGLE, reviews, check links above...)...
LOL this is so funny, that you have actually (apparently) no clue, what exactly is "powering" your amazing ingame-graphics... xD lol

Now on topic:
ACTUALLY, for PR, a GT 640 would be the minimum optimum to DECENTLY play PR in accetable quality & performance (so also fps wise)...

And since there is "INVALID" in the screenshot, at the position where I'd expect the "GT 630", your GT 630 could be fried, or its graphic memory... who knows... (overheated?) ?
But hoping I'm wrong there... :p

BTW

I'm thinking of buying this one...

(would be my next/first (gaming-)"Laptop", since I know have a 10" Netbook for some time now, has Intels FIRST EVER Atom, the N270 "running" @ 1x 1.8 GHz wtf xD and 1024x600 & 1 GB RAM... -.- good bye... :p xD )

... quite cheaper than what you got there (I bet), and QUITE moar powerful... :D xD

OK, you own a Lenovo Essential G780.
There are over 15 different models in the G780 series.
First off, download this PDF that lists them all:
http://www.lenovo.com/psref/pdf/3book.pdf

Then, go here:
Lenovo Support - Find My Product Number
Click on this Blue link "ThinkPad and Value Line notebooks"

It will show you what to look for on bottom of the notebook.

When you find the number, cross reference it to the PDF in the first link. Then post the info in this thread.

Cheers,

Lol, that's what I was frightened of, by the Lenovo notebooks, that they call a notebook with a number that can be 15 different models... -.-
So PLS, graphics card! :) ;)

Did any game was running in background when you captured this picture ?! if there wasn't , then your problem is CPU overheating for sure !!!
Normal CPU temperature should be around 40'C when you're not playing and around 80'C when you're in the game ! (around 60'C when game is running in background)
