Hey,
I got asked by Dutch guys to model this for them, it can also be used on future vehicles that use this RWS in real life. 680 tris.

Any feedback is much appreciated
EDIT:
This is final version of the model:
And this is the final UV layout, thanks to [R-DEV]Rhino for helping me out with it.

Looking good, although without comparing it to any refs that top rounded bit could probably do with more sides?
But as I've said to you before when you where thinking of taking on the Bren UV task:
[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:I would rather however you finished your current projects than take on another although I really can't talk their as I'm one of the worst people ever for taking on waay to much work so if you really want something else to do to give you a break from your other stuff I can understand, but probably won't be as productive in the long run.

Well atm I have this and Tigercat SAM, and with the latter im in a stage of redoing what I messed up back when I didnt know how to make proper highpolys, which is not really a cheerful thing to do

. I see no problem in having 2 tasks at once?
back to the Protector, i uploaded my refs here for anybody who wants to compare them to the model:
Protector Refs - Imgur
EDIT: Keep in mind only few of those have the correct sighting equipment im modelling. This one
I would gladly give rounded bits more sides, even though I dont know which rounded bit you mean, but I have a feeling Im already pushing the limit on tris here. But if I can aford extra 50-100 tris, I can surely make things smoother.
I was originaly comparing the tri count to the RWS on Stryker, which is really simple at about 300 tris. But now I looked at Panther's RWS, which has about 770 tris, so maybe I'll take to that mark. With good LODs it shouldnt matter.

Problem is that if you keep on putting it off, it will never get done and it will ie forgotten and will most likley, never get finished, epically if you keep on taking on new stuff. Trust me there is so much I've got berried away that I may never finish as a result of taking on new stuff before finishing
Anyways to me it looks like you can afford a few more tris, and this is mainly what I'm talking about since its silhouetted etc, and ye going off your refs, they need quite a few more sides, although outer one needs a few more than the inner one.

And the bottom middle one needs some faces too.

Dunno what you changed in the last update but I meant this one:

Well yeah, the front face now has 12 sides instead of 10, the rest of that cylinder had 8 sides before, now 12. Looks pretty smooth to me now?

Ah ye, but I would say it needs more than 12, its big. Just look at how many sides the MG has in contrast for its barrel

Wait, don't we have this already on the stryker?

That one is much less detailed and accurate, plus it is exported as part of the Stryker's mesh, so we wouldnt save much effort by reusing it.

Ye I wouldn't use the one on the Stryker, its very low detail...
What other vehicles use this RWS?

Wait Lucky, your version is inferior, or the other way around?

^ The other way around.
@Rhino: AD told me Dutch forces use this one on Boxer AMV. Other uses i didnt really research, but I know Czech forces use it on Iveco LMV we recently bought.
EDIT: Or you mean ingame?
Btw, is there a way to automatically UVW Unwrap those smoke grenade launchers that would keep those cylinders stiched together, uniform and maybe even overlayed (to share UV space)?

Doesnt the M1A2 TUSK also roll with this?
