Happens when I click "Next" at this stage



It is the correct path, I even tried another path to another hard drive where bf2 and pr are installed, same error.

this is related to an incorrect, missing , or incorrectly written registry entry.

Any idea on how to find out what one it is that is causing this problem?

What version of BF2 do you have?
Retail Cd, Retail DVD/SF, Steam, EADM/Origin, etc?

Retail CD, never had this problem installing any other mod.

Is the Beta runing correctly?
This problem is created during the installation of vanilla BF2, or the 1.4, 1.41 full, or 1.5 patch, it's somewhat out of our control. If the patches aren't elecated to admin privs, the installer won't write to registry.

Nope, the beta wont install, I even check the hash and re downloaded it. PR .98, FH2, Alpha Project, PoE etc all have installed without problem. The only thing I can think of is for some reason this way of downloading just doesn't work for my computer.

um... if you're running a 64 bit client, go check this registry entry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2\]
Version Reg_SZ 1.5

for 32 bit:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2]
Version Reg_SZ 1.5

It might not be exactly that location, I haven't thought about this in months, I'm a bit rusty.
