Transparent terrain

Description:
The terrain has a big amount of transparency and you can't see it at certain angles. It's annoying and I can't play PR with it.

Looks like a missing texture layer. If anyone else has this, please post here and include your system info.

I posted this before in another thread in the support forums, but I guess I'll post it here too. My problem only comes from playing it in windowed mode compared to fullscreen.

Not a missing texture. I think it's your video card or drivers. Try to update your drivers and delete your BF2 cache. The beta start menu has an option to do this for you. Instead of clicking play, click on "Support" and then switch to the "Utilities" tab. There you'll see options to delete caches.

was having this bug (sky mirroring on the ground where detailed textures should be) when I was testing my map...but it was something related to UG drawing distance(mapper related setting)

this happened to me, when I had my previous PC, when I alt tabbed while the game was loading

Did all you suggested, the texture is still missing.

I'm going to move this to the support section since it's not a "bug". Hope they can help you or you can find another post there. I remember others having this issue and they solved it.

Windowed Mode

I think this is normal, I had it each time on all my computers while running widowed. But I do only run it in windowed while testing maps to get the crash reports (if it crashes while loading).

I run maps in windowed mode all the time and have never seen this. I'm guessing it has to do with your video card, video settings, or something like that.

 Why are your settings all on LOW with a gtx570?

Try turning in-game AA off completely and see if it still has transparent ground

same thing here... GTX 660TI with the latest drivers (320.49 which just released yesterday)

settings all HIGH (in-game)

Ambient Occlusion - Quality (via driver)
AF - 16x (via driver)
AA - 32x CSAA (via driver)
AA transparency - 8x Supersample (via driver)
AA FXAA - ON (via driver)
Texture Filtering Quality - High (via driver)
Triple buffering - ON (via driver)
Vertical Sync - Adaptative (via driver)

map tested: Ramiel
sry no pics, but the ground is just "white-transparent"

running in full screen mode no problems watsoever

I have a horrible CPU and RAM so ya they can't cope :) . It works without windowed mode though.

I'm just afraid this may be used to exploit the game so you can find enemies with ease. I just won't run it in windowed mode I guess.

I had this problem when i first tried 1.0, what i tried and a buddy of mine have done is.
1.Start up your project reality bf2 launcher
2.When it opens click on "options"
3.Turn your "Anti-Aliasing" and all the other graphics settings to low
4.Start up your Game and join any server, you should have terrain now, i haven't had the problem since the first time, so i can not test which settings needs to be edited for this to be fixed.
You can now put your settings to whatever you would like, or what your system can handle, Hopefully this helps everyone who has this problem! :)
