Spawn time and no suicide

I didn't see it posted so I figured I'd be the first. Can we please go back to the old way, where if you die you can just give up? Right now, when you die, and there are no medics near, you have to sit for near a minute before you can give up. Also, I personally think spawn time should be 40-45 seconds.

It doesn't change your spawntime, after 60 seconds you can give up, then you can instantly spawn. It's 60 seconds anyway.

At least now the medics have a chance of getting you up, it also prevents mass suicides.

Why do you guys want to give up before a medic has a chance to revive you? It's not like it makes you spawn any faster! Well I don't think it does, I think increasing the time of death has lead people to believe giving up makes you spawn in faster. LOLZ

Yeah some people though giving up made you spawn faster for some reason.

Anyway, now that you can't give up untill you can spawn, I've seen myself giving up less and getting revived much more often.

How so?

Whether it's the old way or this there is no evidence suggested so far that it "prevents mass suicides".

Also, how does it make medics revive you any faster? I still see them milling around and very few reviving.
There needs to be a better incentive for medics to do their job than only concentrating on the wounded players.

Played a round Ramiel as ARF today as medic and it was a pain, thousend people screaming for medic but nobody took one, most of the time we had 2-4 medics (me included) for 48 people. And after reviving 6 people in a row i got shot and no one tried to get me up or throw ammo if i needed when i was bleeding.

There needs to be a better incentive for medics to do their job than only concentrating on the wounded players.
1. It prevents people from clicking "Suicide" (1 ticker) then right after pressing "Give up" (1 ticket) to make your team lose 2 tickets at the end of a round where there's like 15 tickets left.

2. It does not make medics revive you faster, it only gives them the time to do something before you get bored in 30secs and hit give up, then see the medic come to your body and ask if you're dead-dead while wasting epipen.

It saves tickets.

Also why do you absolutely want to be able to give up right away, what's so special about a black screen that says "DEAD"?

i'd say it's a good change. new players might be a little confused. not a big issue, people will adapt

The plan is to tweak that even further so it actually explains on the screen what's going on:
e.g: "You can give up in X seconds".
We just wanted to implement that pretty quickly.

Meh, I don't really see why the spawn time had to be jacked up to a whole minute. Takes you an eternity to get to battle anyway.

from the moment you are wounded the timer starts, when you give up before the 1 min is over the time at the top of the dead waiting to spawn screen is the remainder of that 1 min. so in fact the time it takes you to respawn is no diffrent the devs have just made it so you cannot give up with in 1 min of being wounded. you can now only give up at the same time as you can respawn.

Now do you understand?

The give-up waiting time should be longer. People aren't getting the point.

Now its a bit more realistic. Even though I should increase the waiting wounded-time like ....up to 3 min. If you give up quickly ( just to respawn quickly and running to the action again, and probably het killed again and again like a boot) you will have a penalty spawn time...like 5 min...

It will foce players to play more seriously to all sq members, taking cover in a better way doing things better and calmer, not like the old bf2 servers, just a kill-to kill arcade gameplay like bf3 servers...guys this is PR.

I think the appearance of the timer with the words - "You can give up after 60 seconds," instead of blocking the "Give up" button will put everything in its place. New players will not notice the difference. Older players will understand.
