I was playing as the ARF on Ramiel on Insurgency and was defending a cache located in a small hut down by the dock area. Eventually the enemies over ran me and threw in a grenade or some sort of explosive and killed me.

Afterwards, I heard C4 being placed on the cache, cache was lost so I respawned and about 10 seconds later I was dead and it said I had been "shot as a traitor" as if I had destroyed the cache and gave me a 300 second respawn timer.

did you place any explosive directly on the cache? What you descriped happens when an Insurgent destroys his own cache. It's kind of a punishment. Something must have triggered that the game though you destroyed it.

I had a grenade trap outside of the cache building, but it was outside and I don't believe it even got triggered.

maybe the cache took the last damge from your nade trap .. juuuust maybe
