seriously woried about BETA

no mumble ! close the thing down its just a spam fest where new players are TK'ing outta frustration cuz no one can show them the ropes.

i just played for 30 mins on two servers EU and it looks mazing but constant buzz on all chat saying. e.g.

"help im dying and i just picked up this kit how do i drop it"

"why do i have to wait one minute to respawn?" "please help why?" ......

"im wounded what now"

etc etc and there are so many queries and no one to answer them i.e. most squad that actually enjoy a round are on TS. thats not PR. in PR we play together im woried we are putting off alot of people.

this is really killing the future of the mod.

also u cant even go play 0.98 cuz servers are empty OMG

1.0 runs smoothly for me. Mumble crashed all the time before latest update. Now it works fine. There is few players playing 0.98. But on 1.0 there is more than half thousand players playing without big problems, so i can say that you can buy a new laptop.

This is beta. take a step back and look how it's right now in 0.98. Then apply the same kind of gameplay in 1.0. That is what you be seeing in the full 1.0 release, but even better (more players, more updates, all the new toys, more balancing,...).

The chat spam, teamkilling is all because it's new and fresh. People also have a lot of questions. That's why there is soo much spam too.

Mumble with 100p can indeed can get quite loud at times, but it's something that will grow on you. In fact it's not much different from 0.98 unless you never used mumble in 0.98.

The performance is indeed a bit lower for quite a few low-end pc users. I hope there can be a bit more optimization but you will have to live with the fact that PR has a bit higher system requirements then 0.98 and BF2 vanilla, and that it will most likely keep the removal of some low settings (as it affects gameplay and makes the game un-equal for players). Besides it's a game from 8 years ago. The team tried to make it look as best as possible,which I think is something they definitely achieved in 1.0.

Give the beta a go, have fun and for most test new things out and give the team feedback and bug reports. As that is what this beta is for. If you really don't want to play it then I suggest to wait a week for when it's over to go back to 0.98. Then most players will return to 0.98 until 1.0 release. Hopefully then mumble will also work again on 0.98 which is now turned off to ease the stress on the servers which capacity is now needed to support the beta servers.

But most of all remember the fact that it's a beta

Mumble didn't have any problems for me in 46 hours now.

The % of people having a good round and not on TS is pretty freaking high. Almost nobody uses TS except some random clans.

Are you complaining about mumble being down in 0.98 servers and creating chaos or about the previous mumble crashes in BETA?

edit: ok you can calm down, you have to understand that the BETA has nothing to do with the 0.98 servers, unfortunatly their mumble is down but it is temporary. If you would be a bit more calmer and serious in you posts people would understand your point better

How about you calm down? And when mumble is down you take a break, this is a VOLUNTARY open beta. You can't necessarily troubleshoot problems if you just "shut it down" when there are problems. It's part of the process. Calling people names will not help you here.

I never had mumble crashes since the last updates 2 days ago. Mumble is never down on US servers at least.

It's ok that people play with TS as long as they use it for vehicle comms so they don't spam the rest of their sq. I personally always let pubbies join my squad if I am doing inf and/or playing with less than 4 friends, I'm not an elitist. Of course if my squad is full then friends > pubbies, but in other cases I only get rid of people if they are unresponsive/doing their own thing far from the squad/not needed, and I don't do it the "I don't care about you f*ck off" way, but I tell them what to do after leaving.

We have a major noob influx, i remmber the first time i played PR everyone was rude and i dint get it,

Now we have this much hyped open BETA and the EU servers have constant mumble problems so no NOOBS

can see PR working ,they can see the effects, they can be amazed but an awful lot are wondering so where is the gameplay.

mumble is almost essential to gameplay given the complexity and subrules/key presses e.e Drop kit or black screen.

im saying in EU servers shut them down when mumble is down fo a long period. period

Afaik 1.0 Mumble on both EU and US servers wasn't down in the last two days. It's either a problem on your end or you confuse it with either 0.98 or earlier this week.

Mumble is decentralized now, each servers hosted on the same box have their own mumble. So if mumble would be down it's most likely the gameservers which need it are down as well.
In case mumble should be down anyway, just leave me a short message and I'll check out what has happened.
Could still be a crash/weird bug, but the general mumble problems are all fixed now.
