[Help] Attempting to make a contour map

So, I was trying to make a contour map.. followed along in the directions, how it should be done, and somehow managed to f*ck it up..
I followed the instruction from
THIS post, but didn't really help with why it wasn't working.
Attached is the result, Map is Op: Ghost Train.

Didn't see this... I tried using that too & the same problems occured. I forget how I got it to work better but I remember looking at this

page 17ish, I think I played around with the filters and some other settings to get it right. They've updatd that program I think so maybe that's why the old thread didn't help much.
Ik it's a bit late to post and revive an old thread but hopefully it helped a bit.

Just change it to grayscale, is there an option on the menu?
