Game Crashes when Trying to Join

Im New to Project Reality. I just reinstalled BF2 after hearing about it. After 2 hours of just trying to get the game to START without crashing to my desktop. I cant even join a server. I Join a server and then it loads to about 57 or 58% and the crashes EVERY TIME EVERY SERVER. I have an online Bf2 already created and I can play BF2 vanilla multiplier. I really want to play Project reality but this crash is driving me away. PLEASE ANYONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO FIX THIS PLEASE REPLY ASAP I REALLY NEED HELP IM DIEING TO PLAY PR

I think that happens when you have a different file than the server. It would happen to me when i would host a local server and change things.

I still dont know how to fix it. Iv looked at other threads and non of them helped. I want to play so badly @@@@@@@@@@@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When u re-installed bf2, was it updated to v1.5?

I downloaded it through origin
Im pretty sure origin does the patches for me but I will manually download them now

Ok so I downloaded the v1.5 for Bf2 and still nothing. Im still getting CTD when The game tries to load a map. I wish someone knew how to fix this. My mates are waiting for me to fix this.

Hello, welcome to PR.
58% is when PR is loading geometries,

Defrag your HD.
Make sure you have 4 gigs free on your HD or partition containing the game, as well as keeping 15-20% free on system HD or partition.
Bump your virtual ram (page file) up to 1.5 x real ram ( set min & max the same)
Trash your BF2 cache files
Path:
C:\Users\'your user name here'\Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache
DELETE EVERYTHING inside the folder named cache away.
don't worry the files will be replaced with new ones when the game restarts.
Run
battlefield cleaner to flush out your video cache files.
Reboot. Play PR
Still not loading?
OK
Some other things you can try before you uninstall/reinstall.
Backup your BF2 folder that's inside your documents folder. Once you have a backup delete the original from your documents folder.
Try starting PR from your PR shortcut
a new default folder is created
link to your online account.
If all goes well (CTD gone) all you have to do to get your custom settings back is copy your 'control' file from your backup to the new profile folder.
path:
C:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002\control.con
note: you may not have a 0002 folder so use 0001
