So, I cannot play PR till v1.0 is released? And when it is released it will cost money?
I dont understand what exactly is going on so if someone could explain it to me I would be very grateful

Where did you see that PR1.0 will cost money?
Because that is so obviously false.

I say "no" to both your qestions. There is still an active version of PR, and it will still be a modifiaction(and therefore not going to cost you anything)

BF2 will cost you money but the PR mod itself is free.

You can play PR whenever you want, current version is 0.98 and it's currently got 360 players playing. PR 1.0 will not cost you money.

There is no monetary requirement for PR, but i think people will be very happy to donate money to this Dev team once they play 1.0! Outstanding job they've done over the years, as gamer's we need to help make sure this kind of development is rewarded.. and continues..

When 1.0 is released it will definitely cost you, a lot. Your free time, that is.
But at the moment you have to settle for the 0.98-version and just wait
patiently for 1.0.

What got me confused was that you released a BETA v1.0 but then stopped the beta. It made it appear to me that v1.0 will cost money and the BETA was just a tease to get people to buy it.
I have just never seen a MOD release an update then take it away...

I understand your confusion. The beta was a public stress test for the 100 player servers. Unfortunately, 1.0 won't be released for a little while now. Trust me, you will never have to pay for pr bf2.

My sources told me that PR could be released the next week or so... (so during next few weeks probably, if not still MONTHS... )

Don't worry, Orpheus66. PR:BF2 will be free. We can't legally charge for it. We appreciate donations, but BF2 is the intellectual property of DICE and EA, and we can't make any direct profit from anything on this engine, ever. PR:ArmA 3 will likewise be free. PR2 is currently planned to be free, although this hasn't been finally decided.
You can continue to play PR 0.98 until 1.0 is released. It has already been announced to the public that we are currently working with Release Candidate builds, so while no release date has yet been announced, we're close to finishing this update.
The 1.0 Beta was shut down after it had served its purpose, to stress test PR 1.0. The Beta was a great success, and we're grateful for your participation (we honestly are. No way we could've found some of the problems without the help of all of you players).
I hope all your questions have been answered
