Installing Pre-Load

I know that 1.0 doesn't use the same files as the beta, and it has to be fully downloaded. I also heard that there were issues (after the beta was over) with removing the beta by simply deleting the pr_beta folder. Does the new installer remove the beta before it installs, or should we do it on our own?

If we do have to remove it, what would be the best way?

Well, best way to do it - you can uninstall Beta with its provided uninstaller. Either its in your Start Menu or go to Control Panel/Programs and Features - find Project Reality Beta and uninstall.

The new installer for 1.0 does not removes BETA. If you still plan playing .98 till 2nd August, then here is the file, that must be copied in root BF2 folder IF its missing -> 1.0 fix for rendx.dll beta uninstall issue?

Or simply uninstall the beta before you install PR 1.0, should be OK as well.

Should we uninstall .98? Maybe do a fresh install of BF2? Suggestions?

1.0 will replace 0.98, just install it.

Just wondering, is it really necessary uninstalling 1.0 Beta before installing 1.0?

given that the beta is just as effective as a digitalized brick? Yea.. I'd uninstall it.

You have to MANUALLY uninstall the beta, the 1.0 installer won't do that for you. Simply uninstall it in your control panel.

It's not necesary, but it's of no use at all when you have the full 1.0 :p .
