my pr just crashes right after the short intro at beginning, the music did come up with black screen then it just crashed. I played the beta with same computer with no problem, now it just constantly crashes. any ideas

Same problem here i have win 7

It would appear I face the same issue on windows 8.1.

Reinstall of DX doesn't seem to help in any way

i deleted the beta that i had then reinstalled the game and still nothing

Go to Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles and just delete that entire directory.

deleting doesn't work .. at least for me...(

I have no idea if stuff I did is in any way even related but after few tries I was able to play.

Basically all I did was delete the profile as Lit0ralis suggested, I run as admin and set compatibility to windows vista (running w 8.1 ) and after two reboots its just somehow worked.

i fixed it. what you gotta do is disabling your antivirus and firewall.it worked for me, i disabled my avg and it worked just fine. Your computer is exposed to malware tho, do it at your own risk.

Yup. That's the fix. I don't know if more antivirus software do this but the AVG does. Time to uninstall this lil' moron.
