Mumble does not switch to the right channel

I had this issue quite often, my clanmates also.

You are just stuck in the lobby and cant talk with your squad. I know i could manual switch channels or just close mumble and force a restart.

But whats annoying is that its not noticeable because your mumble shows no error and you need to get on the desk to see in wich channel you are. There should be a notification like disconnect when you are not in the right channel.

We are doing some work to try to address that issue.

Thank you with this. I'm totally confused whether it's a server side issue or a client side.

Closing the game and starting it again helps.

I'm not the one doing the work :p

The "we" refers to the "team" and "team" refers to "AncientMan" but I try to be inclusive :D

I just keep tabs of what is going on.

Switching to a squadchannel manually doesn't work, at least for me
And closing and restarting doesn't seem to help either...

Yep, seeing loads and loads of people affected.
Just today I saw atleast 100 people having that problem.
Once even got kicked from a squad by an =[H]= because he just didn't understand that it's a wide spread bug and not related to me.

What you get for trying to make something that has been working fancier and simpler than it already is, is something that doesn't work. No one cares about fancy, we're not a Ferrari factory, what people want is a car that drives well enough. If PR players wanted fancy shit they wouldn't play PR and would buy BF4, think about it.

Because yes, this new mumble adds more problems than it simplifies anything.

I think the integration of mumble is a great move because it forces players to use it much more. There just is no "I'm not feeling like launching mumble and listening to stranger chit-chat today" anymore.

That being said, today was the first time I constantly had Mumble issues. Maybe I was just lucky during the first few days of 1.0, but today it pretty much never worked as it should. Out of maybe 10 rounds played today it only worked in ... 3 or so.

I always got stuck in lobby/"no squad" and therefore couldn't use the squad channel. If you try to talk to your squad, everybody else who wasn't switched to the right channel can hear you though, and you show up as "local" on their overlay (and vice versa of course: people also stuck in the lobby talking via num0 are shown as local). Another thing is if you talk while having this bug, the icons in the bottom right corner will not appear - neither for local nor for squad channel. Maybe this can help you track down the source of the problem.

Alt+Tab switching out of the game and closing Mumble - forcing it to restart once you switch back into the game - did NOT fix the issue.

I can confirm, same for me. Even going in to Mumble manually and trying to enter the correct channel only results in a "you do not have privilege to enter this channel" message, even though I am in the proper squad channel. Only fix is to shut down game and hope the server doesn't crash, because it always seems to happen after a map crash and upon the start of the next game.

I don't think your logic makes sense.

Personally I think the 1.0 release with integrated mumble is a good thing. We just need it patched up, which can now easily be done with the amazing auto-updater.

Keep on the good work devs.

Please have patience. Work is being done to address these issues.

If you can't see the benefits of the new PR Mumble has for the overall gameplay and teamwork of the mod (when it works), then I don't know what to tell you, I'm sad for your closed mindedness.

We are just 4 days (mere 96 hours) after release... stop being so eager and have some patience.

The new PR Mumble is great, anything else than an integrated solution and we had the same problems we had before. For new people it was hard to figure out how that whole mumble thing works and it was kid of tricky. I hope the new patch works and fix the problems, but saying "ah there is a bug, better use the old system" does no work anytime...

The problem still happening for me after disconnecting from a server! It will only work properly after restarting the whole game.

PR mumble now doesn't reconnect to the server or connect with BF2 upon being manually restarted in the new update.
