No resolutions offered under display mode in Options?

When I go to "Play" I get an error message that the current display mode is not supported and to update it in options. In options, Display Mode is in red letters and no resolutions options are displayed.

delete documents\projectreality folder
restart PRLauncher
do NOT importyour vanilla BF2 profile,
instead RETReive your profile from gamespy
That should fix this.


Somehow you have a corrupted imported profile video.con file

Deleted documents/PRfolder, imported profile from gamespy, and relaunched. Same problem - no resolutions come up under Display Mode in Options. I get a 1324 error when trying to Play. Under Support/display info there is nothing identified next to Display Device (s) or Display Mode (s). Like it doesn't recognize my graphics card?

Are you using the APU integrated GPU , or do you have a discrete GPU, or do you have it set up as hybrid crossfire?

Your GPU drivers have not been updated since 07-26-2012. And the ones you have are a non signed non signature enforced Beta.

Start by updating your GPU drivers.

You need to COMPLETELY uninstall your current drivers, they probably don't have a proper uninstaller. Follow directions below:

download this.
Driver Fusion - The Complete Driver Solution

install it, run it, completely uninstall the Radeon GPU drivers.
Do NOT uninstall AMD CPU or chipset drivers!

REBOOT.

Do NOT allow the new hard ware wizard to install drivers.

Install the downloaded drivers, make sure to do a custom install so no junkware is added in the installation.

REBOOT.

You should then be good to go, though on some games you might need to delete the shaders caches once, especially with BF2 and PR.
vanilla BF2 cache is in documents\battlefield 2

It's discreet. Came with computer. GPU is on ATI card (PCI Express, 1GB, lower end, would have to open case to get exact model#). It played vanilla and previous PR versions on High settings at 1360 x 768 great.

After, many display adapter driver reinstalls and other attempted fixes with no results; I finally found the problem. It was my monitor. I have an Olevia 25" widescreen which is really a TV. It has vga inputs and I have used it as a computer monitor for years with no issues on any games/programs. It is an off-brand generic lcd display. I plugged in my 19" Samsung flat panel and reloaded the game. All resolutions come up under Display Modes in options now and game plays great.

You can manually enter the correct info in the video.con file , but you have to find it first.
Find the Olevia resolution and refresh rate,

Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles\0001\video.con
Open it in Notepad
scroll down to VideoSettings.setResolution
the format for the line is this:

VideoSettings.setResolution 1920x1080@60Hz
You Olevia might refresh at 58Hz or 59Hz or have some other odd resolution ... check the owners manual or google for your model number.

Pereprobyval all that above already advised, nothing helped. The strange thing is that it worked in beta and official release, and then released another update and stopped working.

What does the Nvidia Control Panel show in the "Change Resolution"? Press the Customize and tick resolutions you wish to use and check the launcher again.

Nah, was just wondering if it was somehow not recognizing or listing the resolutions.
If you the button just below the resolutions it should open a window with all sort of custom resolutions to use, tick one and apply. Then from Launcher pick that resolution from the settings and see what happens. Honestly have no idea what the problem could be, apart from some bug in the launcher.
