Sound bug issue

Since the update I now get a nasty soundbug whenever I enter the game. Audio on the menus and loading screens is fine.

I also updated my Nvidia video drivers today which included a HD Audio component for monitors with speakers and TV's. Since that can cause issues I disabled that functionality. I have since reinstalled the latest Nvidia Beta driver without the HD Audio component, removed that driver and installed an early WHQL driver that I know was working fine yesterday. All to no avail.

Still getting the loud soundbug with choppy audio from multiple sources, it's like I can hear everything on the map, mixed in with crackling, like a fire burning and maybe even a little running water?!?

Can't figure it out, sound is fine in every other game, not one issue.

Bizarrely if I enable EAX (even though I don't have a Creative card, wth) a lot of the sounds go away. Sadly they are replaced with a periodic ear splitting noise that sounds like RF interference. (Yet the D2 is a shielded card, IIRCC)

Maybe it has something to do with my profile showing I have a Creative card, which supports EAX, when I don't. Furthermore after doing more painfully loud testing it does indeed sound like I am getting every sound on the map, including atmospherics at full volume, as if they were close. Including wounded sounds from people miles away.

Anyhoo, I've done everything I can to fix it, including multiple PR reinstalls, clean installs of my video drivers without the additional HD Audio stuff.

That's crazy.
I'm not sure which audio out you are using. If not HDMI, go to MSI's website and download newest drivers for your onboard audio chipset.

MSI USA ? Motherboard - P55-GD65 Pick correct OS to find drivers you need.

then download
'[R-COM wrote:LITOralis.nMd']download this.
Driver Fusion - The Complete Driver Solution

install it, run it, completely uninstall the onboard audio chipset drivers.
!!!BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL TO ONLY UNINSTALL THE AUDIO CHIPSET DRIVERS!!!

REBOOT.

Do NOT allow the new hard ware wizard to install drivers.

Install the newly downloaded audio drivers, make sure to install as an admin.

REBOOT.
You should then be good to go,?

Thank you for the response but I have onboard audio disabled as I use an Asus Xonar D2, it gives me no problems in any other game. Sorry when I cut and paste the above I appear to have cropped out most of the references to the bespoke sound card.

OK, can you enable onboard and plug your headphone/speakers into it, and test.

That will eliminate 50% of the possible problems.

Ok thanks LITOralis.nMd, I had to disable onboard audio in the BIOS due to issues in a lot of other games so I will look into doing that when I have some time, don't wan't to mess up my settings etc doing it in haste. For now though, no PR for me. Oh well, will be interesting to see if anyone else is having SoundCard/Soundbug issues.

Do a forum search for "Xonar", there has been prior discussions abuot fixes for it.
I don't have a discrete soundcard to test so I generally don't track those conversations.
