This is a feature. With 100p only 64 nametags can will be shown. The other 36 players would be without nametags which causes even more issues.AFAIK this cannot be fixed. This and the fact that without nametags the game feels more realistic and you have to work better with the tools available (comms,maps,...) makes playing without nametags much better IMO. And this is why the PR-team decided to turn them off. It just requires getting used too :)

Tell me, sir: if I were to play on a 64 player server, would all nametags be visible (if hovered)?

They would all be visible after hovering a while yes. It is when you connect to a server and the server has more than 64 players online that your game client gets confused and only log the first 64 players it sees.
That is why one of your squad-mates might be able to see a tag that you can't.

Thanks! What about them SL/SQ-markers on the map; are those also limited to only 64 players by the engine?

Squad markers appear to not be affected, however there is a different BF2 bug that sometimes makes squad-leader markers invisible. A restart would fix that.

Apart from that Squadleader Bug... is every player in the ingame map? sometimes when i look on the map it doesnt seems like 50 people. Dont know if its because they are in assets or down or not all shown.

he already answered :) ... in 100p server only 64 nametags can be shown so we possibly see 32 nametags on the map (i guess, this is what i understand)

I actully really like this feature because it's more realistic and come on it's Project REALITY! I hope we all get used to this.

unlike most sims PR doesnt feature a zoom, to compensate the lack of "pixels" beetween your screen and real life. Tags were a good trade off. As it stands you are simulating a battlefield filled with soldiers who lost their glasses.

Unlike IRL camos and soldiers blending in with the environment doesn't work, they glow like a huge sun in the middle of the night no matter where they are standing. Thus stop brining up that argument of the maximum possible resolution in-game not being on a pair with what you can actually see with your eyes.

I find the lack of tags confusing. I understand at long distances not having them makes perfect sense, but when your at your base or up close its hard to tell people apart. I mean in real life people look different and you can tell people apart, but in PR everyone looks basically the same and it gets really annoying trying to find your squadmates in a crowd of "blues". IRL I wouldn't have to hover my gun or pull up my map for people standing 10 feet away...
